It’s summertime, but you don’t feel like camping or getting to involved in building that gazebo for your garden.
Spending time lazing about is almost as easy as pie, if you really think about it.
Giving this time to relax out in the sun also can let you regenerate and pick up those wonderful rays the natural way.
How to get an effective lazy summer involves putting your mind at ease and stepping away from your busy life. Here’s how:
1. Back away from the computer
If you have a backyard, use it. Go on, step away from the machine and get into a hammock or lawn chaisse. Lie down and enjoy the weather. Take a nap and let the hours fly by.
Computers were made to make you think and interact. It naturally will raise your anxiety because you will think of things you need to check or read, and that defeats the purpose of the lazy summer.
2. If you have a jacuzzi, get in and relax
You can whittle away plenty of time sitting in the jacuzzi or apartment pool with friends. Socializing is one of the handiest ways to spend time chilling and putting your mind at ease.
3. Buy a cigar
Man invented cigars to relax. If you have no qualms about the extra issues involved with smoking, then have a sit out on your patio with a cigar and spend that time enjoying the rich taste you will experience. Cigars can last for thirty minutes to an hour. You also don’t need anyone around to enjoy one.
While you’re there, consider getting a newspaper to enjoy and look important. Newspapers and cigars can go hand in hand as it takes roughly the same amount of time to complete each.
4. Brew some sun tea
Surprise - sun tea is one of the easiest things to do, and the payoff is a good cup to enjoy while you have the laziest summer ever. To brew sun tea, you will need a large clear jar to put the tea in. It takes time for it to make into tea. Putting the sun tea and then taking a nap can make for a doubly great way to reach your goal of a lazy summer.
5. If all else fails, drag the TV outside
While your ability to use an antenna will be negatively affected after the digital switchover, taking a small television outside and putting it on a table to let your eyes glaze over as you watch what’s on the tube is a great way to let time pass by.
Listening to the radio and putting your mind to ease can have the same effect in effort for the laziest summer ever.
Other things you can do for a lazy summer, although these require effort and money, are going to movies, drinking beers and walking places.
If you are looking for a lazy summer par excellence though, the best thing you can really do is put down what you are doing right now, head outside, and sleep. You can use the reward of rest.
