I love amethysts! An interesting, informational article. Thanks. Have you ever heard of a 'petticoat amethyst'? I inherited one - it is a burgundy colored one and supposedly was from the civil war - the ladies use to sew their rings into their petticoats to protect them from robbery of transients or solidiers. Maybe I should wear it when I am having my second glass of wine! LOL. You are quite an expert on gemstones and this was duly researched. Great job. Marie

Thanks Marie, I'm glad you enjoyed Amethyst Gemstone Crystals: Ancient history, superstitions and astrology. I've never heard of a petticoat amethyst, however, the sewing of rings into petticoats is something I am aware of and think it ingenious of the women of those times!
