The new year is fast approaching and many people will be going out to friends or family members’ houses to New Years’ parties. Many people will be making appetizers and other food or maybe you would like to take an appetizer to a party at a friend or family member’s house, either way here are some great recipes that are sure to be a hit and loved by all. Along with all of the following recipes you can always have many of the common appetizers that include chips and dip, vegetables and fruit with fruit dip, potato salad, cookies, cake, pie and cold sandwiches for a party.
Sausage Cheese Balls
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds pork sausage
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk baking mix
- 16 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
1.      Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2.      Combine the sausage, baking mix, cheddar cheese, onion, and celery and garlic powder. Mix well and form into 1 inch balls.
3.      Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1/2 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

BBQ Meatballs
Ingredients:
·        1 1/2 pounds ground beef
·        1/4 cup chopped onion
·        1/4 cup green pepper
·        1/4 cup rolled oats
·        1 egg, beaten
For the Sauce:
·        1/2 cup ketchup
·        2 tablespoons brown sugar
·        2 teaspoons prepared mustard
Directions:
Combine first five ingredients for meatballs. Mix well. Shape balls and brown in skillet. Drain off fat; place in slow cooker. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs. Cook for 4 to 6 hours on low. Serve over hot noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Lil Smokies
Ingredients:

- Â 1 cup grape jelly 1 cup grape jelly
- Â 1-3 lb Little Smokies sausage (cocktail sausages) 1-3 lb Little Smokies sausage (cocktail sausages)
- Â Â 1 bottle chili sauce
Directions:
1.   Mix all ingredients.
2.   Cook in crock pot for one hour or on stove top for 30 minutes or until sauce thickens.

Pigs in a blanket
Ingredients:
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 4 hot dogs
- ketchup
- mustard
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Separate dough into 8 triangles.
Cut each hot dog in half crosswise. Place each hot-dog half on the wide end of the roll and roll it up. Space the hot-dog rolls evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake approximately 13-15 minutes until the rolls are brown and flaky. Let cool for a few minutes before serving with ketchup and/or mustard.
