I have found Factoidz to be one of the best writing sites to publish articles and quite easy to get started. Of course, there are rules that need to be followed as with any other writing sites, none that are unreasonable. They ask for articles that are at least 400 words, very informative and grammatically correct, good spelling and all that is expected of a good professional writer/publisher.
Plagiarism is of course frowned upon and all articles not only need to be your original works but also must be published 1st on this site. You retain all rights to your own work and can share your writings elsewhere as long as this is your main and 1st publishing site.
When you sign up for Factoidz, be sure to post a good professional photo and complete your whole profile so that fellow authors can visit your profile and learn all about you and your works. Your profile is the first thing people will see.
Next you will want to establish some followers and form your own “fan club”. Usually all you have to do is click on any of the channels that interest you, read some of the articles of various other members, click on their names and under their names click on “follow me”. You can also message them if you like as everyone here is so helpful and happy to everyone. You want to try and connect (follow) as many people as you can. When I started, I would do what I suggested, then went into those members followers and clicked on one of their followers, then the next ones followers and so forth. Eventually people will start following you on their own when they find interest in the many great articles that you will write. I have a great group of followers now who are my great support system as well.
Now starts the writing. Of course, as always suggested, use Microsoft Word or some other word processing program to write your articles. Articles need to be at least 400 words, Word keeps count for you, checks spelling and has a Thesaurus assistant so you can be a little more “colorful” with your words and not be redundant.
You can write on just about any subject and can get ideas by scanning the channels, questions and answers, high yield subjects and so forth. There is also a “Buzz it up” section and contest that you can join get more exposure on your articles as they get voted on. I look anywhere I can for subject ideas, especially pets as that is my specialty at Factoidz. I scan subject areas even with other sites that I work with but all my work is placed here on Factoidz.
Once you write your articles and save them in your own articles files (I have an articles file and a Pet articles file) then you can go to “write a factoid” and work from there. Copy and paste your article from your Word Document to this site. Add your channels where you want the article to be listed and save to review. Your article is saved for the Factoidz Staff Editors to review your article. Most times they will inform you that it has been published or if there is an issue with your article they will advise you to edit. On occasion they will change the title to a more noticeable title.
That is it. The editors usually do not take a very long time to review and publish your article. I would guess it depends on how busy it is and the time of day but there seems to be someone there to do so almost 24/7. Just be patient and congrats to you when you get that success email.
I think you will love it here. Just make sure to keep writing and when you build your library up to the 50 required articles you are then able to apply as a moderator (specialist) in one of the available Channels. That is where you get the most benefits work for Factoidz, gaining a higher rate on your articles and you get to “shine” in your particular field (Channel). You can see what Channels need a moderator by either going to the Home Page at Factoidz.com or just click on a Channel of interest. If there is no name attached to it, it is available for application.
