One of the best treasures in all of San Diego County is a very small little place nestled in between Pacific Beach and La Jolla. This is definitely one of the best kept secrets in all of California. Most of the locals don’t even know about it. I am proof of that. After an unsuccessful attempt to get a table at the French Gourmet, my wife and I sadly prepared to find another place of great fare and then stumbled upon this masterpiece not even a half block away. A small sign near the road read Chateau Orleans. We figured why not the night was ruined already. After we tried to finagle our way into a parking spot in the miniscule lot, we strolled in to a very cheery and warm atmosphere. The service was prompt and amazingly good. As we were led to our seat, the aromas of the kitchen swelled into our nostrils stirring a great hunger. We were definitely not disappointed. This was by far the best dining in all of San Diego and the best Cajun west of the Ole Miss. (and we have been all over looking for good Cajun). Not only was the food excellent but the prices were unbelievable. We were fully expecting to blow $80-100 that night and walked out only spending around $50. It was amazing. If you go, and you should, I would recommend the Holy Trinity (we made the mistake of ordering two when one is plenty to share) with the Gator bites for an appetizer and any of their fabulous desserts. The have a great wine list to top of the meal, also. They have a very educated and courteous staff. It is just the best restaurant in all of San Diego County.
