Keep in mind that when many people say “horoscope”, they think of the sun signs printed in the paper. Astrology is much more complicated than lumping 1/12 of the population into their little envelopes. What a boring world that would be!!!
Astrology takes into account when planets are angular at the time of your birth. It includes planets and sometimes other heavenly bodies such as asteroids. It divides a circle (in Western Astrology) into 12 different sized houses. Houses look like pie slices and show how you use your energy (planets). In the middle you see a muddle of multicolored lines going to different things. These are called aspects, and it shows the relationships the other components of your chart make to each other.
I enjoy StarIQ’s Planetary Forecast. It’s free and great information. A few days before an astrological event, you will get an email explaining what it is, when it is and how it will effect you. They don’t spam you and you won’t get an update daily, only when something is truly afoot and notable. The interpretations are done by well known and respected Astrologers. There is a lot of junk out there, so always make sure to go for quality over a “quick fix”.
The other suggestion I have is to order a chart from Equinox Astrology. You get a booklet that you can refer to every day if you like, or look ahead. You can also check things that have already happened and what was going on at the time. What I like about this format, is it allows you to keep notes in the margins of your experiences. Forecasts (otherwise known as Transits) show energy patters. They may manifest in slightly different ways for different people. The Equinox Forecasts go for one year and start when you order them.
The Equinox Horoscopes are written by Robert Currey, a well respected Astrologer. He does not cut corners, or pad things down to be vague like some chart readings do. He is very specific in what he says and exceptionally accurate. I do suggest if you go this route, that you also get a Character Portrait. You can combine the two in one package.
No matter where you decide to go for your Astrology Forecast information, be sure to check out who is giving you the information. There is an accreditation process for Astrologers for which they must prove a certain level of competence. There are also some very vague, aloof and “junk” readings out there. An accurate reading will ask for your time, date and place of birth. If you don’t know your time of birth, don’t guess. There is a method of doing a chart with no birth time. You lose a little information, but at least it will still be accurate.
Enjoy!
