These jewelry types are those that are fashioned of chains and bands and are sized to fit your arms and legs such as anklets and armbands. From the time of the ancients talented jewelry makers have dazzled us with their inspired fashions of bracelets, anklets and armbands. For instance, the Egyptians commonly wore two bracelets and armbands on each arm. They wore bracelets on their wrists and armbands just above their elbows. They also wore anklets upon their ankles. The Celts wore rigid armbands fashioned from gold and called them torques; these golden armbands were part of their kinship social jewelry. These Egyptian and Celtic forms of jewelry promoted the making of bead and gemstone bracelets, anklets and armbands made of precious metals and exceptional gemstones.

The fine inlaid embossing and engraving of delicately patterned filigree jewelry is an inspiration of the ancient Greek. The Romans produced bracelets, anklets and armbands made of gold coins inserted into mountings of great detail with elaborate arched patterns. These various cultures influenced various jewelry types and inspired such designs of jewelry as charm bracelets, charm anklets and charm necklaces.

During the industrial development of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries there were massive amounts of jewelry trends made of precious metal and valuable gemstones. They were able to manufacture a refined quality of fashioning procedures with precious metals that were more pliable yet durable. This enabled them to add intriguing asymmetrical details such as elaborate scrolls and curlicues.

A tiny sleek diamond bracelet became extremely popular in 1987 while being worn a talented and well known tennis player. It seems the diamond bracelet jewelry she was wearing was broken and the judges allowed her to gather her gemstones together while she was competing in the United States Open which is a tennis sporting event. This inspired what we know as the tennis bracelet.
