Cashing in your unwanted gold

The Value and Worth of Gold Karat

Cashing in your unwanted gold to these online companies. Is it true - do they really give you your money’s worth?

Gold seems to be a big issue on the news in the borough I live in. A story was recently featured on my local news station about selling your gold. I reside in Bronx, New York my local news channel 12 released a story in regard to selling your gold.

Jewelry stores and or pawn shops don’t give you the worth of your jewelry, not even half of it’s worth. If you buy a car for $30,000 and a few years later you decide to sell it. You don’t care if the value went down because you already purchased it. You want your money’s worth. Well the same goes for anything else you purchase.

How would you feel if you have something you purchased for $350.00 and you tried to sell it and you were offered $37.00 for it?

I have unwanted and broken gold that has done nothing but sit in the draw for years. I tried to sell these items that too me were not valuable, but not garbage. The broken items, I just didn’t feel I needed to fix.

Well like the rest of the world I see the ads everywhere for turning in your unwanted gold for cash. Like everyone else, I wondered if it is true? I figured I have nothing to lose by mailing in my items. So, I decided to try one of these online places.

  • First I went to the website and requested their packet.
  • Then it came in the mail a few days later.
  • I placed my gold items inside and took it to the post office to mail it out.
  • Approximately one week later my check came in the mail.

The envelope they send you is postage prepaid and has a tracking number.

If you have gold sitting around that you just don’t want anymore, what do you have to lose? I think these local jewelry stores are the ones that try to take you for a ride.

Pleasantly surprised, I got a check for $153.72, I cashed the check and it cleared.

I got a much larger amount then I ever thought I would get if I sold it locally.

I mailed in items such as small gold rings, and a few broken bracelets. I would have been lucky to get about $30.00 if I sold these items locally.
