Christmas season is approaching. Like most people, your Christmas gift giving list may be quite long. Getting gifts for everyone on your list can be an expensive proposition. If you are faced with this challenge have no fear. This list of cheap, inexpensive Christmas gifts is riding to your rescue.
When you think of cheap, inexpensive Christmas gifts there are 4 main categories that come to mind. There are baskets, homemade items, baked goods, and inexpensively purchased items. Let’s take a look at the four categories below and add suggestions.
Baskets
These great gifts are easy to put together.
Pick up a basket at your local thrift shop or dollar type store. Line the basket with a sheet of red tissue paper. Arrange items in the basket tucking smaller pieces of tissue paper in and around the items. Wrap the basket in a clear piece of cello wrap and tie at the top with curling ribbon. (The wrap can frequently be bought at the "dollar" type of store.)
Build your baskets around a theme. A general Christmas basket might include decorations, figurines, angels or other holiday items. Students may enjoy a basket full of goodies that a student might need. Co-workers may like a general basket or one that has office supplies in it. Good general items to use as fillers include fruit, candy bars or brightly wrapped Christmas candy.
Mugs
Mugs are great gifts for co-workers or teachers and are similar to the basket idea. Good items to include are packs of hot cocoa or tea, a notepad and a pretty pen or ornament. Line the mug with tissue paper. Fill in with 3-5 items. Wrap with the cello wrap and tie with curling ribbon. This is a pretty cheap, inexpensive Christmas gift that the recipient will love.
Homemade Items
If you are a crafty person you won’t have any problem creating a cheap, inexpensive Christmas gift. Likely candidates are beaded jewelry items, boxes, painted wood pieces or any other item from your specialty.
Those of us who aren’t crafty may benefit from taking a craft class at the local arts and crafts supply store. Depending on the class it may cost a few dollars or nothing at all. This is a time when a small cost can pay for itself at Christmas and throughout the year.
