It is virtually impossible to clean an entire room with a single cleaning product. Still, individual rooms do have individual needs. And since most of us have neither the time nor the inclination to thoroughly clean our homes every single day, it is a good idea to know which cleaning product is most useful for each room of the house. For a cleaner fresher home try following these tips daily.

The kitchen

The kitchen is frequently the most used room of the house. It is also haven for germs. Here is where you store and prepare uncooked meats, throw away scraps of food, and drop organic matter on the floor; all feeding the bacteria that are constantly trying to make your home theirs. The most versatile cleaning product you can have on hand in the kitchen is a canister of Lysol Disinfecting Wipes. Wipe down counter tops, sinks, cabinet doors, trash cans and backsplashes daily. It only takes a minute but your immune system with thank you.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is another haven for unwanted microbes. The humid environment encourages molds and bacteria to grow creating a musty, unhealthy atmosphere. A quick fix is Scrubbing Bubbles foaming bathroom cleanser. This nearly all-purpose cleaner can be used on the sink, tub, toilet, and (in a pinch) the floor. It cleans and disinfects for a healthier, fresher smelling bathroom. What I like about this product is that it is one step solution, spray it on and wipe it off.

The living room

Living areas of your home such as a den, living room, library and office generally suffer from dust more than any other filth problem. For these areas Swiffer Sweeper Dry Cloths do more good than any other single product. Use them from ceiling to floor, dusting ceiling fans, mini blinds, coffee tables, and lamps. Don’t forget your electronics as they are quite literally dust magnets. Do this daily (instead of waiting for a gray film to settle over everything) and you will eliminate all kinds of allergens from your home.

The bedroom

Probably the most difficult room to pick a single representative cleaning product for is the bedroom. Still, if I had to pick just one I would go with Febreze Fabric Refresher. Most bedrooms are carpeted, which can lead to pet hair and other not-so-great-smelling materials getting caught in the fibers. Also, people tend to sweat at night which can mean a musty odor emanating from the bed. Not to mention the laundry hamper with a week (or more) worth of dirty clothing waiting to be washed. To keep the bedroom fresh between more thorough cleanings, spray a few squirts of Febreze around the room each morning.

So there you have a cleaning product for every room of the house. Of course if you have a particularly large mess to tackle you will need far more than the products listed here. But for daily touch ups and maintenance these items are truly indispensable.
