According to scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratories, home computers powerful enough to predict at least some aspects of the future may soon be available. According to the scientists, they want to predict the future so that we can all make better decisions from our everyday lives to the bigger picture. Scientist Andy White state that "For some things, we have a long way to go, but for others we have achieved ‘perfection’; long-range weather prediction is generally considered impossible, yet there are some ways to beat these odds."
According to other scientists, a black box that contains an ordinary microchip which is housed in Edinburgh has the capability of predicting major world events. The machine churns out random numbers in an endless stream. These numbers are put into a graph and most of the time it is just a flat line; however when there is a spike in the graph it has always indicated something taking place somewhere in the world. The machine apparently sensed the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. It also forewarned of the Asian tsunami. “Now, even the doubters are acknowledging that here is a small box with apparently inexplicable powers.” (Redorbit.com) Princeton University researcher Roger Nelson is behind the research project dealing with the “black box” phenomena. Dr. Nelson’s investigation is called the ‘Global Consciousness Project’. “Its aim is to detect whether all of humanity shares a single subconscious mind that we can all tap into without realizing.” The physicist Dick Bierman states that "Very often paranormal phenomena evaporate if you study them for long enough . . . But this is not happening with the Global Consciousness Project. The effect is real. The only dispute is about what it means."
“It is possible - in theory - that time may not just move forwards but backwards, too. And if time ebbs and flows like the tides in the sea, it might just be possible to foretell major world events. We would, in effect, be ‘remembering’ things that had taken place in our future. There’s plenty of evidence that time may run backwards," says Professor Bierman at the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Nelson states that ‘We may be able to predict that a major world event is going to happen. But we won’t know exactly what will happen or where it’s going to happen.” Dr. Nelson’s experiments appear to demonstrate that while we may all operate as individuals, we also appear to share something far, far greater - a global consciousness. "We’re taught to be individualistic monsters," he says. "We’re driven by society to separate ourselves from each other. That’s not right. We may be connected together far more intimately than we realize."
Have scientists found a way to predict the future using computers? Could a computer pick up on our emotional sensitivities and thoughts in our brain? Could we know the future because we’ve seen it and remember it? Doesn’t it make sense that everyone could indeed be connected consciously? Could we be one global consciousness that is affecting the world and the future of mankind? These are very interesting questions to ponder. The Global Consciousness Project is very interesting to me in that I’ve had the same thought pop into my head before, wondering if we are all somehow connected through our collective consciousness and brains and wondering if there is a part of brain that knows the future or if we are able to possibly remember it because of the way time might exist.
