Holiday Recipe Booklet

You’d love to pass on all those old family favorite recipes to your friends and family, especially now, just in time for the holidays. Make a recipe booklet; it’s easy and will mean so much to several people on your Christmas list.

All you have to do is get several inexpensive blank greeting cards and cover the outside of them with wrapping paper-the more festive the better. You could even add holiday trims and stickers to the festive paper.

Next take an envelope the size of your greeting card ;make sure it’s big enough for 3 by 5 inch recipe cards. Remove the envelope flap and glue the envelope to the inner right side of your greeting card.

Now all you have to do is stuff the envelope with your favorite recipes  and you have one very easy and jolly recipe booklet. You can make several of these as stocking stuffers: it’s such a clever idea that your friends and family will want to copy it for themselves.

Candy Cane Christmas Cards

There are lots of cookie-cutter Christmas cards out there ready for the holidays, but a homemade card is something special and isn’t that hard to make. You can sit down at your kitchen table and turn out dozens of these beauties in one afternoon.

To make a candy-cane card just take two pieces of rick-rack, one white and one red. Intertwine them so they have the look of a candy cane. Glue them together and place a heavy item like a book on top of your candy cane. Keep the book there for about five minutes, by that time the candy cane should be dry.

Using plain card stock cut to whatever size you want your card to be, draw in pencil, a picture of a candy cane and put several drops of glue inside the drawing. Place your rick rack candy cane inside your drawing and once again weight it down with a heavy object for at least five minutes.

To make an edging on your card, cut another piece of card stock out of red and make it slightly larger than the white card stock. Glue the white card to the red one and all you have left to do is write a greeting on your card.

In less than half an hour you have created a festive and fashionable card for your holidays that friends and family will really admire.
