How to make DIY snow globes

Snow globes whether for the holiday or other occasions, are precious items and have been an admired craft for a long time. Snow globes represent many things for many people. For decades, snow globes have been around. People have often purchased globes to represent a special moment in there lives. Often they are not exactly on point as to what you may want them to represent. However, there are some which come very close.

Now you can make your very own snow globe to represent exactly what you want it to. All you need is a trip to your local craft store to get that figurine to represent your special moment. Depending the state you live in, you may be able to go to your local dollar store to get low cost figurines. You will also need to travel to your local hardware or craft store for a few other needed items. Once you have all the items needed to start your globe(s), you will see it becomes second nature designing them. You will enjoy this craft project and will probably continue to make more globes just because you can.

Do It Yourself Snow Globes

  • Glitter (color you want).
  • Distilled water.
  • Glycerin (local drug store).
  • Ceramic figures, small to fit the jar you use (your choice).
  • Glass jars (baby food jar, small jelly jar, small pickle jar).
  • Clear epoxy (waterproof).
  • One piece of sand paper.

Follow these simple steps

  1. Take the lid to the jar, sand the inner area of lid. Once area is rough in texture you need not sand anymore.
  2. Take the epoxy and attach the figurine to the lid, let dry.
  3. Take distilled water filling the jar almost to the top.
  4. Add glitter, be sure to add a small amount so glitter will not stick to the bottom of jar once you flip it over.
  5. Now add the glycerin, a dime size amount.
  6. Place the lid on and tighten it, be sure the figurine is attached well.
  7. Now your snow globe it complete, turn it over.

You can now make you very own globe to represent whatever moment you would like it to represent. This is also a very simple and low cost gift to give to someone special. Easy to make with easy to find items. A great gift to give at baby showers or birthday parties. This is a craft which does not take much time to complete.
