Drinking and dialing (Learn To Communicate Without Alcohol)

Does drinking alcohol in the morning help cure a hangover?

DRINKING AND DIALING!  (Learn To Communicate Without Alcohol) Here is a great subject for all ages and both sexes, Drinking and Dialing! It could be your boss, family member, Ex or a Secret Crush that makes you feel the need to tell all, and what you gives you more courage than alcohol! Just when you think your night was drama free, you have this nagging feeling half way through the day that you did something out of character.

You decide to do a phone check in the "sent box" and there is the dreaded number of your Boss or your Ex in the display column like a Neon light! Trouble is, you don’t remember what you said. Now what do you do? Do you call and ask? Wait a few more hours and hope the fog from your hangover will clear so you actually remember the conversation? Were you alone when you did this dreaded action? If your friends were there with you, they need to be fired. Never let your friend’s drink and dial!

I was with a girlfriend about 3 years ago who became very reflective about the love of her life that got away 5 years previous. No matter how much I begged her not to call him, she ignored me and called anyway. Not a good scene. He was married, the wife answered. You can guess the rest of the story. Worst thing was, he hadn’t missed my friend since they split up and asked her rudely, what she wanted? Why was she calling after all this time? Women seem to hold on to the memories a lot longer than men do, so ladies,  in many cases of a break-up we become, "Out of sight ,Out of mind."

D&D happens so often that there is a Website called Drunkdialer.com they even have a clothing line! One T-shirt read: Drunk dialing is my way of saying I love you. While the booty call has always been considered a D&D, there usually is some form of permission between the two people involved so that is not usually a big problem. It is a big deal when there is anger or a confession revealed to the person at the other end of the D & D though.  Could it be any more embarrassing to call your Boss and tell him you are pissed off about something at 1AM?  Sometimes it is a message left on an answering machine with your slurring bunny boiler comments. Leaving an actual message is the worst thing you can so, because they have it for evidence against you. Especially if you were threatening at all! Remember what happened to Alec Baldwin with his nasty comments to his daughter on Kim Basinger’s answering machine. How much press did that get! He called his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland some nasty name and also was rude to her mother Kim Basinger on a taped telephone phone message. There is a 2-minute clip of the whole phone call on YouTube.

Drinking and Dialing often happens late at night when you are loneliest and feel the emptiness more. (Or you are watching a movie or TV of something that reminds you of them!) It can be very overwhelming especially if you were not the one who ended the relationship. Drinking gives you the confidence to talk yourself into making the call. Takes away your inhibitions! The pros and cons suddenly become only PRO! You don’t even think about what you are going to say to them, you just pick up the phone like you spoke with them yesterday. When you get a voicemail instead of the real person, is when you start rambling on and on because you do not have the other party to bounce off of. Then you either start crying or yelling in to the phone out of frustration. If there was any chance of reuniting with your EX, it is probably OVER after one of these calls in the night, you may have just destroyed your chance to get your Ex back.

How do we prevent this all from happening in the first place? The LP4100 phone has a built-in breath analyzer that when blown into by someone that is drunk, gives a warning and displays a picture of a car swerving on a road and crashing. You can also program the phone to block selected numbers in the address book, like your bosses, moms, exes etc, and the phone will not dial them if the breath analyzer records a blood-alcohol concentration over 0.08. How great is this?

The AlcAlert, which is a personal alcohol detector, measures the level of alcohol in a person’s breath by utilizing gas sensor technology. It clearly displays the Blood Alcohol Content in digital percentile increments, in about ten seconds. It’s easy to use. Press the button, wait for the beep, blow into the unit, and within seconds the LCD displays the readout! It easily fits into your pocket or purse and is about the same size as a lighter. After reading some of the testimonials on this product, it is best to take the reading 30 minutes after a drink, outside the bar atmosphere and be aware that the reading only goes to “.12″!

Drinking and E-mailing, is just as dangerous and probably more used today that drinking and dialing, as we have the accessibility on many of our cell phones now. If you don’t believe us look in the sent box and re-read your midnight script. Have you ever seen such a writing challenged message in your life? It is like your fingers drunk too. Google has added a feature to G-mail aimed at cutting down on those late night drunken e-mails. The feature “mail Google” generates five simple math problems that must be solved when attempting to send e-mail late at night. The idea here is to give the user enough time to reflect on what is potentially a poor e-mail decision, whether drunk or sober. So there you have it, other than refraining from alcohol all together, you have a few other options to keep you from drinking and dialing. We have all done it and will continue to do so if we are not at least conscious of our bad habits…Hope this helps.
