"Saints Row 2": is it worth it? After successfully completing the first "Saints Row", I was expecting pure awesomeness from "Saints Row 2"–which I did experience.
You start off creating your character; voice, physical characteristics, and style. Soon after that, you jump right into the game, starting off in a prison. Soon after that you are to break out of prison, with the help of one of your cronies. Being successful, you soon find your self off Prison Island, and onto land.
And of course after you get off the island, you jump right back into the action. But of course, you aren’t forced to do the missions, in which case you can roam about freely - stealing cars, killing innocent people, and enjoying the city. Of course police and gang members still exist, but they aren’t much of an obstacle, since the police aren’t able to arrest you anymore. You can still collect hidden CD’s and create your own radio playlists. You can also customize your own cars with many more options. The key word to this game and its success customization.
But of course, people enjoy doing the missions because of their challenging content and because of their rewards. You may also want to complete strongholds, which allow you to gain more territory. You can also play mini-games such as fight club and hijacker. Every mission, stronghold, and minigame you complete, you get XP, and every new level, you get more things like people, homies, and coupons unlocked.
Even after hours and hours of playing Saints Row 2, it doesn’t get boring. Stilwater is a large city and there are many things to do and see. You can buy your own apartments and condos to fit your style. There are many new clothes and outfits in the game, including prom dresses and spirit wear. You can explore the vast oceans around you and find hidden easter eggs, like islands, shipwrecks, and even mythical creatures….
Well there you have it, Saints Row 2 is definitely a great game and it is worth the money. The hidden objects, gang members, and overall story will have you staring at the screen for hours wondering where the time went. I would recommend this game to any of my friends. Hopefully there will be a Saints Row 3 that I can look forward to!
Note: This game is rated M for violence, language, and sexual content.
