With the new today of the worlds loss of Patrick Swayze, it made me think of the great movies he was in. I have listed all of my favorites, they are n no particular order, I love them all.
1. North And South
-This was a miniseries in 1985-1986. This was based on a trilogy of novels written by John Jakes. It was based in Civil War times, and was a great thing to watch. I remember being young, 8 or 9. I would come home excited to watch the continuations of the miniseries. Later in life my Grandmother purchased the entire set of VHS tapes. She left them to my family after her death. I think I will be getting these out to watch.
2. Red Dawn- A 1984 American war film. It is based in the 1980’s. The Soviet Union and Central American invade the US. The movie is about a group of kids that have a resistance against the invasion.
3. Youngblood- A 1986 film in which Patrick Swayze stars with Rob Lowe. They are great Canadian hockey players. This movie has great love scenes, comedy, and action.
4. Dirty Dancing-Who could ever forget this 1987 classic. I do not have to get into much detail on this one. Most of us have seen it, and for those who haven’t. What hole have you been in. "Nobody puts Baby In A Corner!"
5. Next of Kin- This was a 1989 film, that I do not believe made it to big. I loved it. It is about a brother out for revenge. This movies shows what true country folks can do, if someone messes with there family.
6. Road House- A 1989 action movie. Patrick Swayze is a great bouncer in this movie. I enjoyed the action. He decides to protect the town from the bad guy. This is one of my favorite movies with Patrick Swayze. I believe it is because Sam Elliot is in it with him. Those are two gorgeous men.
7. Ghost- A 1990 film. Patrick Swayze stars with Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. This is another movie I do not have to say much about. I believe this is the greatest love story of all time.
8. Point Break- A 1991 film. This movies has it all. Star power, Hot men, and action. Patrick Swayze, and Keanu Reeves, made this movie HOT!!! It is about a group of Adrenalin junkies, that will do anything for a rush. Keanu Reeves is an under cover cop, that befriends the group. Wild things happen after that.
There are many great Patrick Swayze movies. These are my personal favorites. Patrick Swayze was a great actor. His death is a great tragedy for the film industry, and the world. You will be missed greatly.
