I am sure when watching TV you have seen countless ads for Nutrisystem and think, “Wow, I would really like to try that and look like those models”. First off, those models they ever use are people who are professionals and money is no object. Plus, they all have personal trainers. They are not struggling moms and everyday folk who can hardly make ends meet as it is.
Let me first tell you about Nutrisystem and how it works before I go on. It is all about portion control and a balance of nutrition, variety, and the right combinations of food, high fiber and low glycemic index. I can attest to the success of the program . . . as long as you never go off of it. Surely we can all afford that?
To start they always offer free weeks but what they don’t tell you is if you want to get two weeks free, you have to sign up for two months, 1 week free per month so for 3 weeks free, their current offer, I am quite sure you are committed to signing up for 3 months.
The good thing about the program is that you do have access to customer support 24/7. They are definitely good about communication which is very important in my opinion. If you have questions you need the answers right away, not days later.
They have different plans to choose from which includes a silver plan, diabetic plan, vegetarian plan, and their basic plans for either men or women. Each plan contains 3 meals and 2 snacks for each day and all food is delivered free to your door. It kind of makes you wonder what is in these foods to preserve them for as long as it does. Nothing needs to be refrigerated . . . at least that is how it was when I tried the plan.
Each month you get to pick your foods, 28 breakfasts, lunches, dinners and enough snacks for two per day. There is also a store where you can purchase any of the meals separately. Even when I stopped the plan I continued to purchase their pancake mixes and a few other items I did like and cannot find elsewhere. Most of their foods are very good. And the plan does work.
As with any eating plan, you need to also participate in some type of fitness plan that you will enjoy. I currently highly recommend Curves for Women because it is a timed fun plans that is fairly easy to stick to. But is up to you and only you know what kind of commitment you will stick to.
Nutrisystem does work if you can afford to spend $300 a month until you reach your goal. After that it is really tough but not impossible to get on maintenance. Good luck on whatever your choice may be and to the success of your endeavor in a weight loss goal.
