Christmas Cookies by Granny
You will need a large bowl or a medium size dishpan for mixing these cookies, pre-greased cookie sheets and be sure to preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
Christmas Cookies by Granny Ingredients:
- 1 - quart chopped pecans
- 1- cup candied pineapple
- 1- cup candied cherries
- 1 - cup self-rising flour
- 1 - cup shredded coconut
- 1- can sweetened condensed milk
You will first cut up the candied fruit and then mix it in the flour. Next you will add the chopped pecans and the shredded coconut and mix well. You will then pour in the sweetened condensed milk and mix thoroughly.
You will then use a teaspoon to drop the cookie dough onto the greased cookie sheets and bake for 20 minutes in a hot oven.

Granny’s Unbaked Cookie Recipe
- 2 - cups of white sugar
- 3 - Tablespoons cocoa
- ½ - cup milk
- ¼ - cup margarine
Combine these four ingredients in a double broiler and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and then add:
- ¾ - cup peanut butter
- 1 - teaspoon vanilla
- 2 ½ cup instant oatmeal
- ½ cup chopped nuts
Mix well and then drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and allow to set until cold for about 45 minutes should do.

Granny’s Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Recipe
- ½ - cup shortening
- ½ - cup peanut butter
- ½ - cup brown sugar
- ½ - cup white sugar
Or you can simply use 1 cup of white sugar if you do not have brown sugar.
- 2 - eggs
- 1 - teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ - cups self-rising flour
- 1 - cup regular oatmeal
Cream the shortening, peanut butter and sugar together until it is fluffy in appearance. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then add the eggs and the vanilla and mix thoroughly. You will then add the flour and oatmeal and mix thoroughly.
Using a teaspoon you will drop the dough onto your cookie sheets and then bake for 10 to 15 minutes in a preheated over of 375 degrees. This will yield approximately 3 and a half dozen cookies.
