Having a hard time deciding where to go for your honeymoon? I definitely understand because I’m in the same position at the moment. There are many options to choose from and you can only pick one, unless of course you opt for a cruise that goes to several places. First you must decide what you want from your honeymoon. Ask yourself a couple of questions like:

  • Do we want something romantic and secluded?
  • Do we want to somewhere where there is a beach/mountains/snow?
  • Do we want to go on a cruise, instead of flying somewhere and staying in a hotel?
  • Do we want to go to just one place or multiple locations?
  • Do we want to go somewhere that offers adventure/excitement/shopping/another culture/night life/dancing?
  • What is our budget for the honeymoon, how much do we want to spend?

After you have figured out what you want from your honeymoon and how much money you have to work with you can narrow down your choices. First make a list of all the places you may already have in mind that you would like to go to. Do some research and read about each place, find out the cost of an airplane ticket, the cost of hotels in the area, the cost of food, and the cost of activities you may want to participate in and the cost of transportation, how safe the location is. Once you’ve taken all of this into consideration you can then make an informed decision. There are quite a few affordable options out there for you to consider. Here are some of the top favorite honeymoon destinations and some information on them.

Bermuda – Bermuda is highly recommended. It’s a beautiful place with lots to do. You can take a cruise to Bermuda fairly cheap. There’s no need to rent a scooter or a car, you can pay for the bus/ferry pass for the amount of days you will be there and the bus or ferry will take you wherever you want to go. You can visit the beautiful pink sand beaches and check out the shopping in Hamilton. There is so much to do in Bermuda from snorkeling to riding on the glass bottom boat tours and going to the zoo/aquarium, the botanical gardens, the lighthouses and several different beaches. It makes for the perfect vacation and honeymoon destination. Not to mention it’s not very expensive when you take a cruise there.

Bahamas – With only a short distance to the U.S. mainland, the Bahamas is close and beautiful. You can choose to fly there directly or you can even fly to the bottom of Florida and take a ferry over to the islands. There are over 700 islands that make up the Bahamas. They have white sandy beaches and a variety of accommodations to choose from to meet any budget. You could also take a cruise here for a good price. They offer snorkeling, casinos, nice beaches and many other attractions on the different islands.

Hawaii – Hawaii is always a favorite for many honeymooners. There’s a lot to choose from when going to Hawaii. There are volcanoes, green forests, white sand beaches and Hawaiian culture. Hawaii is a beautiful state and it offers the opportunity to stay in the U.S., no passport needed. Flying to Hawaii can be pretty expensive depending on where you’re flying from. Also, cruises only leave from certain places in the U.S. to get to Hawaii. Stay on one of the larger islands for better prices on hotels and airline tickets.

Virgin Islands – The Virgin Islands is close to the U.S. and offers a lot to do at very reasonable prices. You can find hotels and food for reasonable prices and affordable all inclusive options. The Virgin Islands offers many islands and beautiful beaches.

Mexico – There are many different places to vacation in Mexico that offer beautiful beaches and the opportunity to swim with sting rays. Just be careful and do not choose an unsafe location in Mexico. Mexico offers many options at a reasonable price to get there and to stay at a hotel there.

Jamaica – Jamaica is very beautiful, like a tropical paradise island. They offer non-stop nightlife. They also offer many caves and waterfalls in green forests to explore. Stay in an all inclusive resort in Jamaica to get a good price on a hotel and food.

Dominican Republic – The Dominican Republic has become a beautiful, affordable island destination. You can get some great deals there and there are many all inclusive resorts that will meet the needs of most couples.

Alaska – Alaska has a lot to offer in the area of adventure and scenery. You can explore nature in all its vast beauty here and you can also get a good deal on hotels and flights depending on where you are coming from.

Cruise to anywhere – Cruises are a good option for anyone who wants to go somewhere and not have to pay for a hotel or food. The best part of a cruise is the fact that just the cruise itself is an experience, not to mention that it is all inclusive. One price and you pay for a place to sleep, food and going to a location. Cruises are a very good choice, especially for the small budget conscious. No need to worry about a plane ticket, food or hotel room. You don’t need a plane ticket unless you have to fly to where your cruise is departing from.
