With the world’s economies crumbling the way they are, there are lots of business who are finding the already icy waters of business ownership are becoming deep dark tombs of debt and double mortgages.
When the world starts sinking into its own self pity, there are few people who can hold up against its pull. There are however, a handful of people who understand that the recession and down falling economy are not cause for panic. Rather, it is a time for even more motivation, as there are so many avenues opening up from all the falling businesses.
It is often at this time that an Entrepreneur steps up to save the day as a Business Consultant, Analyst or Motivational Business Coach. These positions are highly sought after for those who think they are get rich quick schemes, and highly rewarding for those that just to love to help people succeed in life.
If you find that you are one of those people that loves helping others create a sustainable living, then it is a very high probability that you too could be one of the worlds next big motivational business coaches.

1. A job with your client (a business owner), will most likely be contract and last from 6 to 18 months, depending on the needs of the company, and their ability to afford you.
2. As a Motivational Business Coach, you biggest goal is going to be getting your client to trust you. Once they trust you, you will be much more able to help them succeed and grow their business. Money and pay should be in the back of your mind until you have earned your clients trust. That doesn’t mean that you need to give away the cow, but often times a business coach will have to put in many unpaid hours in the beginning, to open the lines of communication and trust.
3. Although money shouldn’t be your main motivation, we all need to put dinner on the table, and as a business coach, you will need to figure out how much you need to make to cover your expenses and time spent. This is a good reason to be well versed in contract writing, and legal agreements. They are not hard to research or write, and they can protect both you and the company from getting screwed. Make sure to let your client know that as much as you are dedicated to helping them, you won’t do it for a penny less than you are worth. If it means the life or death of their company, they will realize what your value really is.
4. Part of becoming a strong motivational business coach, is learning to be versed in all areas of business. You will need to look over your clients business plan, financial analysis, products, sales sheets, problems, services and everything that has to do with the business. Your goal is to figure out what has been working, if anything and use it as a point to start improving the business. As a good motivational business coach, you never want to tell a business owner that they have been doing it all wrong. Instead, you need to be motivational and inspirational about highlighting what they have been doing right and then take them from there into more steps where they can succeed.
5. Your agenda is likely to be sporadic and full of meetings, conferences and events. Make sure that you have the time to attend to most of these, and make sure you don’t over-dedicate your time to motivating too many business at once. As a general rule, it isn’t good to try and coach more than 2 or 3 business at a time, as you will need to do a lot of work with each and the more you can put into each one, the more you are likely to be paid.
6. Becoming a professional motivational business coach can be a stressful job at times, and it is important that you get into it because you love it and you are good at it. There will be plenty of times when your motivational ideas might not work, and the worst thing you can do is give up. As long as the business is paying for your help, don’t give up until you succeed at helping them succeed.
