How to choose the right dog for your family or loved one
Here are some tips for nice and affordable gifts for grandparents:
- Grandparents love things that are made from the heart
- Grandparents are sentimental
- Kids can make picture frames, maybe put noodles around the frame
- Family photos made into a collage. These don’t have to expensive frames. They can be homemade
- Grandparents love cookies, maybe make some cookies and put them in a nice tin
- Their favorite candy
- Grandparents love buffets. Take them out for breakfast
- People get simpler as they get older. They like things that are made by hand because they appreciate it more because u took the time out to make or build things with your hands
- Try to find a photo of them when they were young, put it with present photos and maybe put a caption on top “See how we’ve grown”
- What is their favorite candy?
- Older people tend to be colder physically too. Maybe a nice throw blanket
- A pair of slippers
- Some nice Isotoner gloves. They even make masculine ones
- A nice hat for them. (something stylish, they’ll appreciate it)
- A scarf
- Do they drink alcohol? If so try a nice bottle of scotch-Chivas Regal is a nice brand. Or maybe a bottle of wine
- A nice cigar if he/she smokes. Felipe Greggorio is a nice cigar
- Scented candles are always nice. Yankee candles make nice ones
- A nice betta fish or other pretty fish. I went to Walmart and bought a betta, a medium size bowl, a live plant(from Petsmart) some plastic stones, and some flake food all for about $30. Maybe try to set it up for them so all they have to do is feed the fish and enjoy them (see my post on keeping your fish happy)
- A warm sweater
- If they like a certain TV show or movie, buy them a DVD
- If they like a certain type of music, get them a CD
- Wash their car for them. Or most car washes sell books of car washes
- If money is tight, some nice things to do is shovel their walk or driveway
- Take them out for a nice meal. You probably know what they like already
- Cook them a nice meal
- Pay attention to what they say before the gift occasion, people always drop hints like ” I need batteries” or “I need a new flashlight”
- If you have the money, a nice LCD TV. Their eyes aren’t what they used to be
- Tickets to a show (try to go with them) it’ll mean more of you’re there. Something that they like
- Nice clothing- I bought 3 nice shirts from target for my father last year and he still brags about them
- A nice card with your thoughts, appreciation and deep sentiments. Something that you wrote that comes from your heart, or a letter in a frame
- Just remember to get them something that they can use that is practical and/or from the heart
