If you found yourself to this article on Factoidz then you probably are involved in article writing. But even if you are not authoring any articles I think you will find this article interesting.
The Internet age has provided a platform for anyone to experiment with writing. Some give it a try just because they like to write, they like to share their knowledge with others. Prior to the Internet it was very difficult to get articles published in written copy, so the pool was very small, but today with the ease of the Internet, the pool just grew into a ocean of articles. Others write articles to attract people with the chance to get a click on an affiliate link or to earn an income. With the vast amount of articles, the task of finding readers is getting more difficult. What ever the reason, you want readers and learning how to get them to your article may be challenging.
One of the most popular platforms people use to exhibit their writing or affiliate links is the blog. There are many different premade blogging sites like Google Blogspot, Typepad, LiveJournal, Wordpress and many more. Many of these different blogging sites have premade themes to choose from, so you don’t have to know code to design layouts and write special code for search engine optimization. Wordpress by many seems to be one of the most powerful for optimized delivered traffic. One great Wordpress theme that comes fully loaded with everything you need to generate traffic is the Affiliate Theme. This what Yaro Starak, of BlogMastermind.com has to say about the Affiliate theme. "Affiliate Theme is by far the SIMPLEST system for setting up, tweaking and PROFITING from affiliate marketing using WordPress. If you like easy, this is it." So if you are currently blogging or wanting to start, set up Wordpress and the Affiliate Theme and you will be miles ahead of the pack.
So now you have some information on blogs but these blogs needs to be hosted on some type of server system. Many of the blogging sites provide free hosting and this is good for practicing but if you want to be serious about creating a top notch blog, you will want it hosted. When you purchase the domain and self host you own the blog, you do not have this with the free sites. Like most everything on the Internet, there are a lot of options and most are similar. The hosting service I like to use is Ipower.
Now if you have an interest in earning some income from your blog you will need to be part of some affiliate programs. These affiliate programs have hundreds of different companies that you can choose from. This variety helps stay within the niche you are blogging about. You can earn anywhere for 2% - 30% of the selling price of a readers purchase. Some of these affiliate programs require that your blog has some traffic prior to joining. Google Adsense is the most widely known and most popular. Commission Junction, LinkShare and Chikita are some more of the top affiliate companies. The more traffic you receive will increase the amount of click to an affiliate link.
Now you have the basics of creating a blog but the success of the blog comes from the content, this is where the work comes in. Finding topics that interest readers is the start, then providing the readers with interesting and attracting content is a must.
