A hamster Halloween costume is easy to put together and cheap enough for parents on a tight budget this Halloween. How would you make a Zhu Zhu pet Halloween costume?
First decide on which Zhu Zhu pet your child wants to be. Your child will have 4 characters and colors to choose from. A tan hamster (Mr. Squiggles), gray (Num Nums), Pearly white (Chunk) or pale yellow for Pipsqueak.
Items needed to make a Zhu Zhu pet hamster Halloween costume
You will need a tan white, gray or yellow sweatshirt and sweatpants (if possible a hooded sweatshirt to attach the ears to)
White fabric material to make the tummy, and inside the ears
Colored fabric material to make mittens and feet (match up to Zhu Zhu pet of choice)
White, pink, and black Halloween face makeup (For nose, mouth area, and whiskers)
White out to make Zhu Zhu pet symbol on the back of costume. For instance; Zhu Zhu pet Pipsqueak has a star, and Num Nums has a heart.

How to put Zhu Zhu pet Halloween costume together
First step- You will need to make the ears, tail, and the tummy for the hamster of choice.
For the ears you will need to cut two 3-5 inch pieces of brown material. Make sure the ears are slightly curved and pointed at the top. Sew or glue them to the colored sweatshirt hoodie of choice. The tail is fairly short on the Zhu Zhu pet. So I suggest just making a small round ball and gluing it on to the butt of the sweatpants. To make your Zhu Zhu pet costumes more realistic to the character make the tail the same color as the hamster of choice.
Second step- Make the tummy and the inside of the ears of the Zhu Zhu pet hamster costume. Take white fabric material and cut out a piece big enough to cover the tummy area of the costume. Glue or sew it on to the costume. The inside of ear, cut out a small triangle using the white fabric material. Then place the material into the middle of each hamster ear and glue.
Third step- To make the feet and hand mittens use the color that matches the Zhu Zhu pet of choice.
The hamster makeup is easy. First use the white Halloween face makeup. Make a circle going from the side of your nose all the way around the mouth area back to the other side of your nose. Fill this area in white. Take the pink face makeup and cover your nose pink. Depending on which Zhu Zhu hamster you choose some have whiskers. To make whiskers take a black Halloween crayon and make 3 lines on each side of cheek. The whiskers should be at least 5-6 inches long.
Final step- Make the symbol on back of the hamster costume using white out. You now have your own easy homemade Zhu Zhu pets Halloween costume.
