For the majority of homes, clutter seems to be a problem. A problem that if not attended to can cause your home and property to look trashy and make you as well as anyone else who enters feels ill at ease. However, the good news is you can make a big difference by getting clutter under control and actually eliminating it from your home or property.

The most important factor in decluttering is you. When you are finally sick and tired of seeing everything in disarray, it is then the time to start making a difference. Clutter makes you feel bad; it makes everyone experience feelings of anxiety and depression. If you do not do anything about clutter it will take over and increase the amount of illness you feel both internally and externally.

One thing to keep in mind when confronting the task of decluttering your home or property is that everything, every object, and individual and so on carries its own special energy. If you allow a collection to get out of hand, you have created a cluttered energy. However, the good news is you can fix it be cleaning out clutter and rearranging the things you want to keep to bring or draw in an increase of good productive energy.

As long as the clutter sits about it grows and will eventually make you depressed, so much so that you may even feel there is nothing you can do about the clutter. However, this is not true. Take the time, just a few minutes a day to declutter and you will find that you have a renewal of energy to take care of the task.

Perhaps, you wonder where to start, especially if your property or home is saturated in clutter. Well, everyone is different, so start where it makes the most sense to you. Are you still searching for what you know is the kitchen counter top? Are you searching for the floor in the kid’s room? Perhaps, you want to see the back of the front door again.

Here is what I recommend:

Start somewhere anywhere at all, as long as you stay in that basic area and then finish up. It is always a good shot for renewing your energy to start in the front rooms, any rooms where you may have company enter the home. Therefore, begin in the living room and then move onto the kitchen. Of course, you can take each room a day at a time, however when you work in the front rooms or those most often used in the household, it gives you a lift and a feeling of satisfaction while viewing any area that you declutter and clean. Try it and then enjoy the open energy of cleanliness!

DIY De-Cluttering

It is really simple to get rid of clutter. You simply need to go through those things that are cluttering your home or property and either get rid of it on a magic garbage truck ride. On the other hand, if it is a useful item that still looks and works properly, you may consider giving it away to someone who can use it or sending it off to a donation box for a thrift store. If you have the time and energy, you may even consider having a yard sale to get rid of some of the things you no longer have a use for in your life or in your home.

Things you will need for de-cluttering the house or property.

- Energy

- Time

- Garbage Bags

- Boxes

When you begin chose only one area. Stay in that area, until you have it de-cluttered. It makes more sense to stay in one area and get as much as you can de-clutter at a time. However, if you have to de-clutter a large mess make sure you pace yourself. By finishing off one room or one area of your property at a time, you will be able to see and appreciate the difference that you make with your time and efforts. Grab a garbage bag and begin throwing out all those old papers, after checking them to make sure they are not something that you really do need. Once you have all the paper clutter thrown out, make a point of not allowing paper to clutter your area ever again. Either you can make an organizer for your mail or you can buy one at your local retailer.

Broken Items

Really, consider whether you will ever have the time of inclination to have something fixed or is it really an eyesore that will sit there forever, just taking up precious space in your home or on your property. You can recycle, throw it away or give it to someone who tinkers with things and makes them work again. Unless you do something about it, it will only sit there collecting dust, taking up space. Get rid of it.

Recycle anything you can, throw out junk and paper clutter. Get rid of the old to make room for the new!

If you plan to give things away or take to a thrift store drop box, use the boxes you have collected for heavy or odd items that may poke holes in bags. Otherwise, for clothing and softer items place those things in garbage bags and then drop them off to the thrift store. Know that clutter takes a while to build, and eventually it can make you depressed and ill just from being around it. Consider it the same as stagnate water. Clutter is unhealthy and you can make a difference by taking a few minutes each day to de-clutter. You may even consider hiring someone to do it for you.

Good thoughts! I was forced to declutter my bedroom when I switched rooms and hadn't realized how bad it was and how it made me feel. I'm determined to keep it neat and organized, with lots of bare floor! :)
