How to deal with major losses in life
Have you ever had one of those days (or weeks) when everything seems to go wrong? Your computer implodes and you lose all your important work. Your boss makes you redo a huge project. Your fridge falls apart and you can’t find the warranty. You get into misunderstandings with everyone from your cat to your Mom. There’s only one thing you can do at times like this: Blame Mercury retrograde.
Mercury retrogrades three to four times a year, bringing with it chaos, frustration, confusion, miscommunications and a whole lot of whininess. Here are a few things you can do to avoid being among the confused and the whiny:
- back up everything on your computer, ipod, cell phone etc before Mercury enters a retrograde period
- repair anything broken around your house as Mercury likes to point out broken things by making them fall on your head (or at least that’s what happens to me - please learn from my head wounds)
- take in your car for a tune up
- make sure your bicycle is in good working condition (in case the car breaks down)
- keep a bus schedule handy
- try not to sign any contracts or buy any big appliances or anything that can fall on you
- make sure you know where all your important papers are ahead of time and keep them in a safe spot
- speak slowly and clearly to everyone
- avoid calling customer service
- and most importantly use a Mercury retrograde period as an opportunity to rest, reflect, rejuvenate, reconnect with old friends and finish projects you’ve been putting off.
