The first thing you will need is two change jars. One for silver, and one for the pennies. You should keep them separate where the jars do not appear to have more. Pennies tend to add up a lot faster than other change.

You may also want to separate even further. Get yourself four jars that can be used for your change. Use one for pennies, one for nickles, one for dimes, and one for pennies. This will make it possible for your change to grow even further. It will seem as if the change is not growing at all, but when you count it, the will be a great deal of change built up.

Use cash, pull out the amount of cash you will need in the week, and use it. This will assist in your change journey. Credit cards do not usually give change. So this saving experiment will only work with bills.

Pay for everything with the bills, even if the total is $1.01. Use $2 and save the change. If you were to do this every day for 30 days you would have $29.70 saved without any real effort.

Now when you get home from work, you should empty your pocket, and seperate the change into the jars. I wouldn’t recomment counting it. Try not to even think about what amount you put in. You spend this amount on sodas or coffee in a day. You will not miss it at all, but will love to have it if you ever need it.

Do not empty any of them until at least one of them are full. I would not empty them until all are full, but if they are needed, go ahead. When they are full, you can roll them. Place the rolled coins into the bank, or just hide them in your closet. You may need them later.

I have started a journey to save 1,000,000 pennies. Did you realize that is $100,000, from pennies. I haven’t counted, but I have quite a bit saved already. I will wait a few months before I count it out, and see my progress. I know it will take a few years to reach the goal, but when I do I will be taking a nice vacation, or buy a nice home.
