There can be so many reasons why you feel very emotional inside. You might have just gotten out of a relationship that took a long time to call off. You have always been the dumpee, not the dumper. Something might have happened in your life where you just can’t hold it in anymore. You feel like crying and crawling up in a ball until all the emotional pain goes away.
On the first day, this is bound to happen. That’s because it’s all so sudden. You can’t just get over the problem in the first ten minutes. After you find out what the problem is, this is when the healing process begins.
In life, you go through a healing process. There is going to be a time where you are still angry. It’s 100% normal. What is not alright is when you keep that anger bottled up for a long time. If you keep it inside of you, it is going to come out ten times worse. Here are the top three things that can help you take all those feelings out.
1. Screaming
I used to think this was one of the weirdest things that can help take anger out of you. Then–a year later–I realized that this really helps. When you scream at the top of your lungs, you’re adding up all the pain you feel, and taking all the drama out of your system. Make sure you do it in a private place where no one else can hear you. You can even do it with the help of a best friend, as long as they understand your situation.
2. Journaling
This is one of the best things to do. You can get a small notebook, and write for minutes or even hours. Journaling is like having a conversation with yourself. Write about the problem. Write about how you feel. Don’t hold anything back. If you feel like crying, you can do that. But don’t stop writing until you feel like you have let everything out. This process is like having a confession, to yourself.
3. Consuming Food
This cannot be a da-to-day habit, but consuming food can actually be a good thing. For most people, one way to get rid of the rage is to aim it at something. Aim some of the anger towards food. It’s a calming process, and no struggle in the end. Make sure the food is balanced, and you’re not just consuming everything.
These are my top three suggestions for releasing anger inside of you. If you follow these steps correctly, you will see great things. Each of them is as powerful as the next.
