It’s that time a year again; the kids are going back to school, germs are going to be shared back and forth, and your kids will bring home the germs to you. The biggest problem with having the flu or a cold in your home is that it continues to be passed from one person to the next. So you need to get rid of it quickly. How do you do this?
I have a sure fire way to do just that. It’s all natural and works great!
I personally have a very low immune system. So when I do get sick, I really get sick and this is been going on for years now. Of course I have tried every cold medicine, every flu remedy, every old wives’ tale, you name it, and nothing worked . . . that is, until I came upon this.
Having three boys in the house, one of them always seemed to have something; either they didn’t feel well or they were repeatedly out sick. And then when they gave it to me, I would be down for weeks rather than a few days. That makes it very difficult to run your household.
I personally prefer natural remedies, and I prefer natural ways to take care of your body, rather than taking pills of going to the doctor.
Based on that, I did a lot of research on the flu and cold and I tried a lot of different ideas. Nothing seemed to work, so I started thinking: well, what other things have I used when I’m not feeling well besides the flu. I thought of things I would do when I had a sore throat, when I had a headache, the basic aches we deal with.
And I started doing my own experimenting. And you know, you get to that point, when you don’t feel well, that you will experiment. The biggest thing that I knew was that I needed to detoxify my body. I needed to get the sickness out.
So here is what I did:
I grabbed myself two towels; one to dry off with, and the other one was a large beach towel.
I then sat in the tub and filled the water until it was as hot as I could stand it.
I then poured a quarter cup of straight ginger into the bathtub.
Ginger has been known for years for its healing properties so I figured why not try. (Ginger has been used for many years to help with nausea, indigestion, upset stomach and vomiting so I figured it couldn’t hurt)
I then took the large beach towel and dipped it in the water and completely covered my body while I was in the tub. (from my neck to my toes)
- Within seconds, sweat was pouring off me
- Within minutes, I was ready to get out.
- I forced myself to stay in the bath for 20 minutes–"forced" is the correct word. I love to take baths, but not ginger baths
- Every few minutes, I would take the big beach towel and dip it in the water and pull it back over me.
- Again, as I stated, I was pouring sweat
- When the 20 minutes were up I stood up very slowly; I felt nauseus. I took a quick, lukewarm shower to get the ginger off of me.
- And then immediately went to bed and fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks; not only was my flu gone, my sinuses were cleared, my back pain had cleared up, and I had energy.

If you have the flu I highly recommend doing this!
I put the boys in a ginger bath. And like me didn’t like it. But they knew how well it worked, they knew they would feel good the next day, so they were willing to give in to this 20 minute bath and suffer.
- So here are the steps;
- grab yourself to Towles won to dry off with one to use in the tub with you
- I also recommend grabbing the trashcan or plastic bag in case you do get sick. And you have it handy.
- get in the tub. Then fill the water and make it as hot as you possibly can
- pour into a quarter cup of ginger (you can buy this at any grocery store)
- stay in the bath for 20 minutes you will want a timer or someone to keep track because you’re going to get out within a few minutes.
- Continue to use the beach towel, dipping it in the water and pulling it back over yourself completely covering from neck to toe
- when you’re 20 minutes are over, slowly get up. You can take a cool lukewarm shower to get the ginger offer you
- at this point, wrap up in a warm blanket
- and then go directly to bed
- I also recommend putting an additional sheet down on your bed, because you will continue to sweat out any leftover toxins during your sleep.
- You will be tired, as you have just detoxify your entire body.
Because the smell of ginger can be a little strong. I decided to buy some powdered milk, which is what I used to make the milk bath, and I put some of that in it and then I bought some fragrance oil. (You choose the type you like) I would pour in just a couple drops of that in the tub with me also. Now my bath smelled good. Even if it was difficult to stay in there.
My warnings to you; do not take this bath, if you have any problems with extreme heat.
Do not take this bath, if you cannot just go lay down when you’re finished
- The great thing about this ginger bath, is that it detoxifies you completely.
- This can also be used as a
- Relaxant
- stress relief
- headaches
- migraines
- it’s a skin softener
- it removes dead skin
- it relieves sore muscles
- it relieves backache
- a release clamps
- and it helps with sinus problems.
With the new threat this year of the H1N1 virus, we need to take extra care to eliminate this from our homes.
Further recommendations. When someone is sick in your house, bleach everything that gets touched.
On my last update of the swine flu. They are projecting. Approximately 90,000 deaths from this virus.
Because this is just about to hit the second wave.
I would also suggest getting some masks. Now. If you wait until the outbreak hits, which it will do just that, the cost of these masks that will keep you from getting this will skyrocket.
Do yourself a favor. Search around, Amazon.com is a great place to go and get yourself a case of these masks. Me being on disability with a low immune system… When I do go out, and it’s flu season, I have a mask on at all time. And I don’t care what people think. I don’t want to be one of the 90,000!
Let’s all stay safe this year, protect ourselves and enjoy life.
This is a doctor’s recommended way to help yourself
