Imagine if you will, an area filled with lacy trailing vines of rich full colors of philodendron greens and yellows. For sake of the story, we will say a porch, somewhere you can sit, read, visit with your friends and family or meditate.
Surrounding you as you sit upon a comfortable white bench are various soft and striking colors of containers holding other plants. Lying on the table beside the bench is a homemade candle and a kaleidoscope containing a wonderful world of colors for pleasurable entertainment. Resourcefully, some containers are brand-name containers spent by common use, and reused to hold various plants such as ivies, lilies, flowering bulbs of various types and colors, canes, mosses and clovers. Large recycled paint buckets filled with frilly subtle ferns, palms or herbs settled inside, with beautiful eye-catching stones, rocks, gems and other goodies nestled among the plants and flowers. The air and humidity are cool and sweetly filled with life-sustaining oxygen.
You inhale deeply: a cleansing breath, and then release it.
You notice that there are actually a lot of plants–beautiful plant life–surrounding you. More than you usually see, unless you are in a floral shop or you naturally have an exceptionally green thumb. Unless, of course, you also search for information to learn more about the plants that you find interesting or show up a lot in your life. Plants have meanings as well as needs for growing and thriving.
Open-aired areas or humid enclosed areas are always the best for plant life. They need water and air, however only to a degree that is agreeable for each individual type of plant. This is why plants do well on screened-in porches and while in the constantly humid area of your bathroom. This is not to say, of course, that plants cannot do well in other types of areas. Of course, it is always best for you and the type of plants or flowers that you choose to grow, when you know exactly what type of soil, lighting and watering needs they require to flourish and grow.
When you enjoy plants and you want to grow your own, you will find that each plant requires its own special needs of water, light and soil in order to give you the best result in your plants.
You can find various resources to find the information you need, whether you decide to visit your local library or real-time bookstore.
When you enjoy going to flea markets and yard sales you will find that there may be other types of resources from books and other media–recordings–and you may even luck upon a moving sale where someone may have all their own plants marked ridiculously low since they will not be transporting them to their new home.
You will also be delighted to find that you can get a lot of information online while sitting comfortably in your own home. There are websites and eBooks that offer some great information for growing plants and flowers, right at your fingertips.
Once you learn what you need to know about any particular plant you may be interested in, you can then apply your newfound knowledge to the plants you love. When you do this, you will be able to create the type of area you wish to enjoy your time in, while relaxing with the various subtle vibrations of plants and flowers.
