How to cover up a tattoo the day of your wedding
To veil or not to veil, a wedding day question
The Freelance Wedding Photographer: The Engagement Portrait
As a bride-to be, you want to look beautiful from head to toe on your big day. Leading up to one of the most important days of your life, you anticipate your skin looking flawless, fresh, and glowing. All eyes are going to be on you and it is important for your skin to look its absolute best. Photographs are going to be taken that will be treasured for years to come. There are many ways to improve your skin leading up to the big day and ways to keep it looking radiant in front of the camera.
- Try to eliminate stress. While planning your wedding, it may seem hard to stay relaxed and poised through all the preparation and planning. Stress can cause hormonal changes, which may lead to inflammation, breakouts, or dry skin. Simple ways to reduce stress are to have a regular exercise routine, maintain a healthy and nutritional diet, and to make sure you are getting a full eight hours of sleep each night. Also, whenever you start to feel overwhelmed, remember to smile.
- Wash and exfoliate your face regularly. Regardless of what type of skin you have, it is always important to wash a couple times a day with a cleanser that caters to your skin’s needs. This will help to keep your skin fresh, and allow it to breath. Depending on your skin type, regular exfoliation is important in removing the top layers and unveiling a more glowing complexion. Keep in mind that over exfoliation could cause irritation or skin damage.
- Treat yourself to a professional facial. Many spas have chemical peels and treatments that will leave you skin feeling healthy and soft. Most spas have reasonable rates and some even offer wedding packages at discounted rates. Some specialists recommend getting a facial once or twice a month leading up to your wedding day. You may only need to go in once every other month depending on your skin type.
- Give yourself an at-home facial. In order to save time and money, facials can also be done in the convenience of your own home. Simply cleanse and use an exfoliating scrub on your face. Then, bring 5 cups of water to a boil and lean you face about a foot above the bowl. The steam will help to open pores and smooth out the skin. Relax for 10-12 minutes and than dry off with a washcloth. Next, apply a facemask in upward motions. Relax for 10 minutes and then wash the mask off with warm water. After your facial, your skin will feel clean and renewed.
- The Finishing Touch: Make-up. The wedding day is finally here and you will want your make-up to be picture perfect. Whether you are having it applied by a professional or applying it yourself, make sure to go through a trial run of how you want your make-up to look. Experiment with different eye color shades and different lip colors. If you decide to go dramatic on the eyes, go a little more subtle on the lips. If you decide to go with a Hollywood red lip color, go a little lighter on the eye color. Finish, with a powder that will help set the make-up and keep it in place. Remember, it is always better to go a little more natural with the wedding day make-up.
Follow these recommendations for your skin leading up to your wedding day, and you are sure to look beautiful and flawless. Remember the reason why you are getting married in the first place, and always remember to keep smiling!
