11 ways the world could end
Making the world a better place should be a goal that everyone has. There are lots of little things you can do to help make the world a better place. Every little bit counts towards making the world and the people in it better. Here are some tips on how to make the world a better place.
- Follow the advice of Michael Jackson in his song “Man in the Mirror”: if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change. This means, start with you, make a change to yourself and become a better person. By becoming a better person you are helping those around you and the world.
- Put a smile on your face; brighten your own day and those of others.
- Volunteer for a good cause that you believe in, that helps other people somehow.
- Donate your time and money to a good cause that helps people and/or animals.
- Recycle, reuse and reduce products and items you use. Also, try to buy recycled products so there is less waste affecting the world.
- Help feed the hungry for free at Hunger Site.
- Teach someone how to better themselves. You could teach someone how to read, how to save money using coupons, how to manage a budget, how to grow food, how to do algebra, how to find free stuff or how to recycle.
- Support political officials who put forth legislation to make the world better for everyone.
- Stop eating so much beef and meat in general.
- Be courteous and polite to everyone you meet. Be fair and reasonable with people. Don’t start arguments or fights and keep your cool around people who are angry or irritated.
- Follow the “Golden Rule” and treat people as you would like to be treated. Love other people the way you love yourself.
- Share your knowledge with others online so that the whole world can learn from your experience.
- Try to help anyone you know who is suffering; suffer with them and help them any way you possibly can. Sympathize with their situation.
- Donate anything you don’t use or want anymore to organizations like Goodwill and the Salvation Army.
- Become more self-sufficient so that you do not strain the Earth and other people as much. Plant your own garden; purchase and use your own livestock, use solar power in your home; use an electric or hybrid car or better yet bike to places that are not far away to help mother nature and not pollute as much.
- Have a loving and kind heart with all people. Do not hate or retaliate against others. Love people as they are unconditionally. Do not curse people or scream out in rage at others. It will have no positive effect on them or the world. Keep your temper in check and use self control to walk away if someone makes you upset. Understand that we’re all human and we all have faults, no one is perfect.
- Give regularly as much as you can, however you can. If you can’t afford to give money, give your time, your knowledge, your creativity. Whatever you do find someway to give back to others and the world.
- If you believe in God or any kind of religion follow the ten commandments of the Bible or the ethics that your religion teaches and practice becoming a better person everyday; life is a never-ending growth experience. Make yourself a better person day by day. Pray for God to make you, everyone else and the world better.
- Do no harm of any kind to your fellow human, animals or Mother Nature.
- If you want a pet and are able to take care of one, go to a shelter to adopt one and you can save a life. You can also check with other animal agencies that take in strays and adopt them out. You can also check Craigslist for animals that are being given away or asking for just a small re-homing fee because the owner can no longer take care of them or has room for them. You could also foster an animal while looking for a good home for him/her.
- Donate blood which can save lives. You can also choose to donate your body or parts of your body upon death to help others in need.
- Become a foster parent or adopt a child if you are able. You can make a real difference in the life of a child.
- Have a pleasant, loving and cheerful demeanor about yourself. People’s moods are often very catchy and if you are cheerful and loving you can rub off on people. You may even inspire someone else to change.
- Help people who are trying to break an addiction by talking to them, offering your support and be someone they can come to talk to.
- Help people who are leaving homeless shelters and trying to get housing, employment and transportation secured for them. Help them find these things they need and offer your support and let them know they can come to you with problems anytime and that you will always be willing to help, listen and just be there for the person.
- Make a friend for life, again be someone who is always willing to help, listen and just generally be there for the person. Be a true friend and have a rewarding relationship both ways.
