Save electricity and keep warm this winter. Well, winter time is coming. That means the cold is coming. Now, I personally don’t mind being on the cool side, however. I don’t want to be cold. When winter comes and you start to feel that chill comes in your house, that’s what can make you sick. That chill gets into your bones to makes you ache and can give you a cold or the flu.
However, the problem is, nobody wants to crank the heat and pay the extra money and electric bell. There are two easy ways cheap gadgets that will help to keep you warm, and save on electric bell.
Point number one:
My first recommendation is to buy yourself a heated pad for your bed. It is far better than the heating blanket for many reasons. One heat rises, so it stands to reason that if you have the heating blanket on top, and then you have a comforter on top of that it will keep heat in, but it also draw in moisture.
Because heat rises, the heating blanket has to be turned up higher to actually keep you warm.
Whereas the heating pad, (because you lay on underneath of your sheets, Causes the heat to rise through you instead of stifling you… So rather than feeling that you’re having heatstroke, you actually feel the warmth and comfort that the heating pad gives.
Point number two:
Make sure that you change your ceiling fans, so that the direction is going the opposite way. Now as the heat rises, the fan pushes it back down.

This keeps the heat flowing around the room.
Heating pads for your bed come in all sizes and can be found to purchase everywhere online, however If found the best prices on Amazon.com.
But you can search around and see what you can find and hopefully you’ll find it an even better deal.
Point number three:
Always wear socks, the wearing a Socks keep your body temperature up about 10° warmer than it would be without socks.
Now if you put slippers over the socks you will stay nice and toasty warm.
Point number four: Last year I purchased this new item. It’s called a heated body pillow, and since I’ve always loved to sleep with a body pillow, I purchased one. I like to wrap up around it.

But generally in the summer it is too hot and I end up pushing it away because it’s too warm. Whereas in the winter, it seems to take a long time to warm up for me and has that chill to it at first.
But with this new heated body pillow you simply plug it in and turn it on. Doesn’t take much electricity and is like a little heat box.
If you’re like me and at the moment by yourself is like snuggling up to somebody that you want to be with, keeping yourself warm, and the best part is you don’t have to talk to it.
Just kidding on that, but it actually does work and it will keep you warm.
Point number five:Most of these of course are for the evening time, which is when you will save the most on your electric bill. And I’ll tell you why.
At night of course we know the temperature drops, so as to be even colder. That’s when your heater is running the most.
When you get in bed, and you start to fall asleep, your body temperature drops, so you really don’t require as much heat as you think you do.
But because you’re asleep, and you already set the thermostat to warm you up, there is no one around to turn it back down.
Point number six:
In the evening just go turn on your bed heating pad and turn on you’re heated body pillow.
Go drop the thermostat down to 65° and get in bed. Keep slippers, next to your bed and a robe. (Hint I put my slippers on the other side of the bed and they are already warm for me in the morning)
When you get up in the morning and it’s a little chilly, slip on you’re slipper and you’re robe and turn the thermostat back up to the 68.
Point number seven:Within a few weeks, your body will acclimate to this temperature, and will be comfortable to you. And you will save a big portion on your electric bill.
Also remember, if you are going to work or will be gone for the day turn the thermostat back down to 65 degrees.
