CRAIGSLIST ACCOUNT - Go to Craigslist.com and sign up for a Craigslist account. It’s free, easy to do, and only takes a few minutes. You will need the Craigslist account to be able to sell your items on their site.

FIND THINGS TO SELL - This could be stuff you have around the house that you no longer have a use for such as old clothes, collectables, etc., or you can go to garage and yard sales and find things for cheap prices and resell them on Craigslist for a profit.

DIGITAL CAMERA - Once you have your Craigslist account and your items to sell, you will need a digital camera to take pictures of the items and upload them to the listing. You don’t have to take pictures if you don’t want to, but items with pictures will sell faster and sell for more money than items without a picture. When you buy something, you want to see what you’re buying don’t you? Well, the customer you sell to will too, so a digital camera really is needed. Be sure and take good pictures that are well lit and show the item from different angles. This lets the customer know exactly what they are buying and prevents any problems or misunderstandings.

DESCRIPTION - Next and most importantly, provide an accurate description of what you’re selling. Make sure everything works and if something doesn’t work or there’s a scratch, defect, or damage of any kind, be sure and include the details in your description. You wouldn’t want to buy something and be surprised with a defect or damage when you get it and no one else does, so be honest.

MAKING THE SALE - The items you list on Craigslist are listed locally and therefore will be sold to people in your general area. This will most likely require meeting the buyers of your items, so remember to be friendly and sociable when making the sale. This will assure that both you and the buyer have a pleasant experience.
