Facial care 101: Ten of my favorite skin care products for a beautiful face
How to defeat a bad hangover
All of us fun loving spirits have had one too many martinis on a Thursday night, too eager for Friday. Here are some tips for making it through the next day at the office without hearing “You look SO tired!” and “Are you okay? You look terrible!” a million times.
- Drink water like it’s going out of style. Try to drink some before going to bed, at least a glass of it, no excuses. I feel queasy when I drink water after having too much to drink, so I go for flavored options, like Glaceau Vitamin Water. You are going to be dehydrated, and that needs to be fixed, stat.
- If you don’t have anything to tame flyaways at work, rub some hand lotion into your hands and smooth them over your unruly mane. In a pinch, hand lotion can gloss your hair up. Be careful not to use too much, or you’ll look greasy.
- Alternately, for greasy hair, a sprinkling of baby powder can absorb grease at your roots. This is for those mornings when a full-on shower, with a hair wash, dry and style are out of the question.
- Make sure you shower! The hot water on the back of your neck will relieve some of the pressure, soreness, and reduce head aches. Plus, it will wake you up and feeling less like something the dog/cat threw up.
- Wear light colors. Black will wash you out like nobody’s business.
- Avoid caking on the make up. Your tiredness will only show through even more. Use a tinted moisturizer to wake up your face, then apply minimalist make up just to make you look less dead. Blush, mascara and a light foundation are all musts, in my opinion.
- Eye drops are a necessity, if your eyes are red and blotchy. It’s the number one tell-tale sign of a night on the town. Well, that, and dragon breath that reeks of vodka. Which brings me to my next tip.
- Brush your teeth! I shouldn’t have to tell you this one.
