How To Take A Free Vacation Trip Every Year
Here is how to maximize your reward accumulation using the American Express Rewards card or American Express Delta Rewards Card.
The American Express Rewards Plus and American Express Delta Skymiles cards are two of the best reward cards in the industry.
My wife I use the Rewards Plus card for all of our purchases and for expense account items at work for which we are reimbursed and we get enough points each year for two round trip tickets. One of the features that makes the American Express Rewards Plus my favorite is the fact that miles do not expire or do not go away if a particular airline goes bankrupt. In the past members of frequent flyer clubs have lost thousands of valuable points to airline bankruptcy and with high fuel costs it looks like there could be another round coming.
American Express Rewards Points are good on several airlines and are good for hotels, and a number of gift items.
How To Earn As Many Airline Miles As You Can
Start by applying for a card and once you are approved set up all of your cell phone, cable bills, phone bills, newspaper subscriptions, garbage disposal, etc to automatic reoccurring billing. Then use the card to pay for all of your grocery shopping, gas and living expenses.
Think Of It As Just Another Form Of Cash Instead Of a Credit Card
Since American Express Cards must be paid off every month you are not using credit, just another system of cash payment that earns you free travel.
For 20,000 to 25,000 miles on most airlines you can get a domestic round trip ticket. For Mexico and the Caribbean it is between 30,000 and 35,000 miles. Averaging out ticket costs and dividing by the number of points required for that ticket you earn on average between two and three percent back on every purchase you make which is better than most other credit cards. Other services that are available to members include Buyers Assurance that double manufacturer warranties up to one year and roadside assistance are a good reason to upgrade to the Gold Card.
There are some other good airline reward cards out there besides American Express. The downside is that most are credit cards and not charge cards. Credit cards may get some people into trouble and you may find yourself paying high interest rates on balances after the trial period. Look for cards that offer double miles for commonly purchased items like groceries and gas. Sign up for rewards programs that are offered through grocery stores such as Randalls, which give you additional airline miles for grocery purchases. This way you will earn miles not only when you pay for your groceries but through the store loyalty program as well.
