Time management in competition differs from excelling, because our abilities, talents, capabilities shine when we explore them, not when we compete with a sense of non-equality or the negative feelings and thoughts of rivalry such as in competition. The bitter rivalry has no sportsman’s spirit present in it. Excellence is the direction of competition, so we focus on the direction. In the direction of competition, without our self-development meeting the required merit of excellence, performance is comparative again, losing the original, creative and individual touch. The very theory of competition is based on comparison and the contrast, ignoring the similarity and the simile.
The on-spot question is that without comparison, how can judgments be made?
It is a good question. We notice in our daily life that the winner is the one, who takes the minimum time to finish the race. What one would say about the football team–even the best performer can not make the team win. Does it mean that one may be the best, but loser in the team? If the same player is a winner in a race but a loser in the football match, the excellence is again comparative, not based on uniqueness.
Humans struggle to be unique in the race of similar and simile for showing the contrast; the uniqueness is one of the most primitive desires, rather calling it an instinct to be distinct. It may never allow the human race to direct towards excellence but the call for competition is always present. The most contributive factor in the art of ascendancy for the human race has been research works, which are based on excellence without competition. Excellence is an art in the sense of equality, whereas competitions are excellence in achieving uniqueness in the name of the art of sense of similarity.
We do not find any competition in the food chain or rosary.
Like the pearls are unique, original, and part of the rosary, so are all individuals in the food chain. A drop of water possesses the maximum potential when it leaves the tap and it is circular in shape, the concept of the universal-hood. Even at the atomic level, the atoms do not compete to simply find another atom to balance.
In the balance of atoms, it is with maximum potential energy and at one time possessing three qualities that, in a molecule, an atom is independent, interdependent and dependent. For example, in Sodium Chloride, the atom of Sodium and Chlorine, by sharing, give the life sustainability in the common salt; Sodium Chloride. This is also true for Hydrogen and Oxygen, creating drinking water.
It is a wonder of creating and sustaining, and thus making of life when the atom of Oxygen unites with other atom of Oxygen giving a molecule of Oxygen for the inhaling this life-giving gas. These life-giving things are considered to be the Devta’s or gods, who give life into the food cycle and chain. The Devta is synonymous to Angels in the Indian languages.
In a nutshell, the best management of time for success is to use to set an example rather get an example.
