How to make money in a falling stock market

As every one know that Indian stock markets are growing lucrative day by the day with the strong belief that these stock markets are growing at great pace and speed. The market as on August 2009 first week seem to be technically strong and can be considered as out from a short bear run, is moving technically strong by crossing small and big hurdles in the names of strong resistances. If one observes S&P Nifty (Benchmark index of National Stock Exchange, NSE’s Fifty stocks as per NSE) is in the range of 4650-4750 levels. Next strong technically achievable zone is 5300 level, which is expected to be achieved in next few months if the market moves in the upward direction.

In this moment, most of the small and medium range individuals and institutions enter into Indian stock markets and try to invest in some good stocks. This Factoid speaks about some of the ideal stock investment ideas, specifically about the industries and sectors; one can easily rely and invest to see a gradual growth in stock investments. However, one should consider that a constructive approach is more important for investing in stock markets especially when they are volatile or when markets are growing in a gradual trend.

Infrastructure is one of the best and growth foreseen sector for next 3-5 years. The newly formed government in India is paying good attention in enriching the country’s infrastructural amenities by aspiring private public partnership in most of the projects. Some such sectors, where a private public partnership or a private player’s role might easily pull infrastructural interest in India include Railways, Water works, Highways, Bridges, Power or Energy exploration etc. Thus one can easily think about some of the good stocks in infrastructural space to easily get benefitted with the government as well as the non government requirements that arise in the country during next 3-5 years. Some of the stocks, I would like to remind in the infrastructural space include Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd (IDFC, BSE Scrip Code: 532659), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (Rel Infra, BSE Scrip Code: 500390), IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects Ltd (IVRCL Infra, Bse Scrip Code: 530773). These are only a few of the infra stocks names that I have mentioned in this Factoid. However, I strongly suggest to refer www.bseindia.com or www.nesindia.com to check for more infrastructure based stocks, that will surely benefit their investors and safeguard their interest in medium or long term period.

Hi Ram, It would be great if you can also discuss how a foreign stock investor like me can buy into the Indian Stock exchange. Also, if you can include links to stock brokers who handle accounts for foreign investors.
