Everyone wants to own a superclass car, not only for requirement, but also for portraying that typical class in the society. No doubt, the best quality cars with sophisticated features and gadgets are priced the highest. As far as comfort level and luxury are concerned, people are ready to spend a hefty price to bring home the best luxury car. Let’s take a look at the top ten most expensive cars in the world that are available in the market. The antique cars and auction cars are not included in the list.

Bugatti Veyron (1.7 million USD): The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the most expensive car, with the most powerful road-car engine till date. It is produced by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS and launched in 2005 as the world’s fastest production car. Installed with W16 engine, the speed of Bugatti Veyron can reach to a maximum of 408.47 km/hr (253.81 mph). This legendary car is named in honor of Pierre Veyron, the French racing driver, who succeeded the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939, while representing the Bugatti firm.

Ferrari Enzo (1 million USD): The Ferrari Enzo, or at times Enzo Ferrari or F60, is a super car built with Formula One technology. The car has a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) and has unique features like 12 cylinder mid-engine, carbon-fiber body, ceramic composite disc brakes, active aerodynamics and traction control. It is launched in 2003 and named after Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the company. In 2004, the Ferrari Enzo was ranked number three in the list of Top Sports Cars of the 2000s, declared by the Sports Car International.

Pagani Zonda C12 F ($741,000): Pagani Zonda, produced by Pagani (Italy), is the third most expensive car. It is a sports car, which unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. It is the latest reengineered version of the Pagani car and has a top speed of 215 mph (346 km/h) and power to weight ratio, 528 bhp/ton (384 W/kg) .

Koenigsegg CCX ($650,000): The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engine, two-seat car (roadster), produced by Koenigsegg, a Swedish company. The car was introduced for the first time at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, though its production was completed beforehand. The top speed of the car is claimed to be 259 mph (417 km/h) and has a power of 806 bhp.

Porsche Carrera GT ($484,000): The Porsche Carrera GT, produced by Porche company, Germany, is a mid-engine, two-door and two-seat supercar with a top speed of 335-340km/h (209-212.5mph). As per road tests, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The Porsche Carrera GT is designed with the latest technology like traction control, inboard suspension and a carbon fiber subframe.

Mercedes SLR McLaren ($455,500): The Mercedes SLR McLaren is a super car, engineered jointly by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive. Some of the notable features of this super car include carbon fiber frame, carbon-ceramic brake discs and active aerodynamics. The car has a top speed of 337 km/h (209 mph) and achieve an acceleration rate from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

Maybach 62 ($385,250): The model of this car is derived from Mercedes-Benz Maybach, hence the name Maybach 62 is given. It was designed by by DaimlerChrysler and launched in 2002. The car has a top speed of 300 km/hr and is designed with luxury gadgets like a fully-reclining rear seats, climate control options, infrared reflecting glass and a dual control air suspension.

Rolls-Royce Phantom ($320,000): The Rolls-Royce Phantom is a saloon car, produced by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It is a subsidiary BMW cars, launched for the first time in 2003. It achieves an acceleration rate from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The Rolls-Royce Phantom is designed with a power reserve dial, rear-hinged doors, electronic retraction system (to prevent theft) and other luxury amenities.

Lamborghini Murcielago ($279,900): The Lamborghini Murcielago is a two door, two-seat sports car, produced by Lamborghini, an Italian car manufacturer, and designed by Luc Donckerwolke, a Belgian car designer. It was launched in the market in 2001; the car is designed with V12 engine, rear spoiler and active aerodynamics. The top speed of this exotic sports car is over 219 mph and achieves an acceleration rate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Aston Martin Vanquish ($255,000): The Aston Martin Vanquish is a long-distance driving supercar, manufactured by Aston Martin, a British car manufacturer and designed by Ian Callum, a British car designer. It is launched in 2001and can attain a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h) and an acceleration rate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 secs.
