Owning and maintaining an aquarium is such a soothing, beautiful and calming other pet? It is all in how you care for your pet, whatever it may be, that would determine the benefits and luxury of that pet joining your family. I believe that would go as well for fish.

If you choose to get an aquarium it would be necessary to get all the equipment that is necessary for good filtration, clean water, the greenery, rocks, decor and so forth. In most cases you would be investing in a freshwater tank with an assortment of small tropical fish which are sold in reputable pet stores. By creating this beautiful well filtrated tank for them, you are providing a safe environment.

Fish in aquariums are far from living in cruel conditions unless you have a tank of fish and never do the upkeep, which it does need. Once you have decided to get an aquarium and have it running properly as instructed by your local pet supplier or reference information, there could be no safer place for the inhabitants. Do your own research to be sure that all the tank mates are compatible. With them being well fed and in this clean environment they have to be far safer than where their predecessors have come from.

Having an aquarium can be a beautiful hobby for some people and the living creatures that you put in your tank rely on you for their care. Not be a responsible owner is what justifies as being cruel. There are so many benefits of owning an aquarium to the owner as well as the fish mates within those beautiful clean waters.

From the fish point of view, they are being cared for, they are safe, in a better environment where they are not on the food chain but are being fed as needed. All they have to do is swim, play, do whatever they do in the water to be happy. It is by no means cruel to provide the appropriate atmosphere to live out their natural life.

At the same time they provide such comfort for people who suffer from things such as anxiety and high blood pressure, hyperactive children and more. There is something so soothing and comforting in gazing at an aquarium of fish and watching them do what they do best. It is educational for all and so tranquil. Having an aquarium of beautiful fish and other compatible sea life is a win win situation for all and on top of it all, adds such beauty to any room in your home.

I agree with this statement: “Fish in aquariums are far from living in cruel conditions unless you have a tank of fish and never do the upkeep,” I have heard many that will claim that keeping fish in a box is cruel, however in my decades of aquarium keeping I find quite the opposite to be true. With good care & equipment (this includes ALL equipment that can improve water quality), many fish have a better chance of living a full life than in the wild; as well many fish show recognition of the owner and will interact like many more traditional pets. http://aquariumdigest.wordpress.com/
