I know a great deal about vehicle auctions because I frequently research them online for a relative who has of yet to get a computer. These can be easy to find, if one knows what they are looking for.
The first method of course is to use a search engine that one has available online. K-Meleon is relatively new but works as good as Firefox, and has some better included features.
Use the search engines included in the browser, or try Google, Yahoo, Mamma.com, or any other preferred search engine and type in your information. Keywords like “local car auctions Austin TX” should being up subject matter related to your search. If you desire repossession auctions, include the word “repossession” in the keyword search. To get an exact search for certain information use “AND” between keywords in most search engines.
There are a great deal of auction sites available online. One my brother likes me to use often is “vanderbrinkauctions.com”. This has an assortment of states that these auctions are listed at. If you can get a listing of other sites with local auction houses and can find them with a search engine, start there.
A great place to do research to find auction places to buy a car is a local newspaper or a dedicated car magazine. These will list local auctions as well as upcoming auctions and possible car auction websites. If you prefer, try newspapers that post their classified listings online.
Government auctions are the ones that deal a good amount with repossessed cars. If you can find the location of a good government auction for the type of vehicle you desire go ahead. Repossessed cars are also obtainable from some banks.
You can also try E-Bay for car auctions, but make sure you can try before you have to commit to the sale completely. There are some scams that get through E-Bay and you wouldn’t want to get a car that you think runs and end up getting nothing or car that is only good for parts.
