Maybelline Lash Stylist is the Only Mascara I Use

This review is on my current favorite mascara. One tube cost’s around $6.00 - $7.00. Maybelline Lash Stylist is the only mascara I use lately.

What I like about it most is the comb applicator wand. It is different than any other mascara wand I have ever tried. It is shaped just like a little comb in order to allow you to be able to manipulate it in any direction to reach every single lash. It was a little tricky to maneuver at first but after about a week I was a pro. I don’t think I could ever go back to using the big bulky brush wands ever again after this. The reason is simply because of the amount of control I have with the comb, I am now able to decide where I want each lash to go. I find that it makes my lashes look much longer than they actually are. The comb allows me to create that cat-eye look I was always going after but was never able to obtain with traditional mascara brushes. I am no a makeup artist by any means but with this mascara I feel a little bit like one.

The actual mascara formula is pretty good but it does need a little improvement in my opinion. I have tried most of the colors such as blackest black, brownish/black, and soft black. I prefer the brownish/black because of my coloring but there is no difference in the consistency no matter which color you choose.

* Black is nice for evening wear but it can still be used daily because it is not too stark.

* Soft black is not really a black at all which was disappointing to me. It should have been named charcoal gray. I am not really sure what kind of complexion you would need to have in order to make the soft black look good. I just know that it isn’t very flattering on me and I don’t care for it.

* Brownish/black is perfect for me and I suppose it would look great on anyone that has blue eyes because the brown really makes them POP.

Back to the formula of the actual mascara, the main problem I have with it is that it only gives me about 3 weeks of use before the consistency becomes cakey (dries up) This is either due to the mascara itself or perhaps it could be because of the design of the tube. I just know that I never pump the wand, add water to it or use it incorrectly. I have been using this mascara for the past year and every tube only gives me about 3 weeks of wear with daily use which is not enough in my experience.
