This article represents an outlook of Mingle2.com’s dating website. I have been on Mingle2 since August 2009, and I have to say that the most important area of Mingle2 is the forum. The forum engages people and brings them together. You can meet many new people in and out of your local area. The forum also offers a local state forum where people only in the same state as you can participate. There are a wide variety of subjects to get involved with, so be prepared for lots of typing!
Mingle2 also offers e-mail protection from users you do wish to interact with, such as married or people that drink and use drugs. However, their e-mail system does not seem to stop spammers or bots from sending e-mail to people (this is a drawback to the website since people are not interested in the bots, or people portraying themselves on a webcam website). Mingle2 also offers the ability to block individuals that are bothersome to you.
Mingle2.com is completely free, and you can post up to 12 photos and add a bio and information about yourself, such as your age, weight, height and what you are looking for. Overall, Mingle2 is a great place to make new friends, meet new people, and if you are lucky enough, maybe the mate of your dreams. But that does require both people to communicate back and forth and with Mingle2’s e-mail system that is quite easy.
I would have to say that if Mingle2 was given a rate between 1-10, with 1 being the highest, I would rate it a 3. I believe that Mingle2 does still have some kinks to work through and there are some protection features Mingle2 needs to add, such as a Captcha for e-mails (to prevent bots). I believe that the ability to "verify" who someone is, would also be another great idea as it will add another level of protection for Mingle2 users that are looking to meet others offline in public.
Other than that, if you compared mingle to some of the top paying dating websites, I believe the paid ones would fall short due to the limited capability of communicating. For the site being free and the unlimited amount of interaction you can get from Mingle2, I would have to say that it by far exceeds other dating website. Most dating sites do not offer a "forum", which is a huge drawback as it prevents people from truly getting to know someone outside of an e-mail.
