It has come to my attention that on the 25th of September there will be a National Day Of Prayer for the Muslim religion that will take place on Capital Hill in Washington.
I have to question this as President Barack Obama clearly stated "we are no longer a christian nation and are made up of many religions". So this year President Obama decided to cancel the ceremony at the White House not wanting to offend anyone".
The national day of prayer was not observed in the White House.
However, this Islamic and Muslim religion has received a permit to gather and pray on Capital Hill on the 25th Of September, 2009.
The above link is a direct link to their site, stating their purpose and what will go on that day. To cover a few things:
- The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill.
- Thousands of Muslims from all races, creeds, colors and ethnicity will gather for the sole purpose of prayer.
- Bonds of friendship will be formed between those in attendance, both Muslims and Non-Muslims.
- Muslim youth will experience tours of the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court.
- The peace, beauty and solidarity of Islam will shine through America’s capitol.
The picture on this site shows two hands shaking in agreement. One is red, white and blue and the other is light brown. Behind the shaking hands are the documents: The preamble to the constitution and side by side with this is a page of Arabic text.
This gathering will go from 4:00 am until 7:00 pm and is expected to have over 50,000 followers. They state they got the idea from President Barack Obama’s inaguartion speech and his speech in Egypt that lead them to this gathering.
A few facts:
- In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer.
- In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.
This is a must read at Snopes.com:

There is also the disturbing last sentence on the www.islamoncapitolhill.com/ site. The last sentence clearly states "Our Time Has Come".
Doesn’t this too seem like something that may offend other people?
Should this be allowed to go on, when a National Prayer Day was not allowed at the White House? How does this bring Unity to a Country?
If you tell one religion…NO…then tell another YES??
Will Obama endorse an anti-Semitic, anti-American Islamic day of prayer?
Here are some quotes from: www.renewamerica.com/columns/fischer/090924
"A look at the leaders of this prayer event raises serious questions about whether this event is good for America.
The main organizer of the event, Hassen Ibn Abdellah, was, according to the New York Times, the "most aggressively combative of the lawyers" representing the terrorists who staged the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. His client was convicted of manufacturing and transporting the bomb and is now in the "Super-max" prison at Florence, Colorado.
And that’s not all. The imam who will lead the recitation of the Koran, Sheikh Ahmed Dewidar, is a Manhattan cleric who once said that "through the domination of Islam and its ideas, the White House will change," and spoke approvingly of another cleric who said that one day "the White House will become…the Muslim House."
Another imam, Abdul Malik, is also an organizer, and has this quote posted on his Facebook page (emphasis mine): "Democracy is not revelation, and democracy does not equal freedom, for in democracy…you have all of the vices that are against the spirit of truth; so no we don’t want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy. That’s what we want."
The bottom line here is that this Islamic prayer event is being led by men who harbor both anti-Semitic and dangerously anti-American views.
President Obama has barely acknowledged the Christian heritage of the United States, refusing to participate in the National Day of Prayer and issuing only a perfunctory proclamation which he was required to do by law. Yet he has hosted a dinner celebrating what he called "the Holy Month of Ramadan" in the White House, and recently issued a proclamation at the end of Ramadan which concluded with an Arabic blessing.
Given the radical views of the organizers, let’s hope neither President Obama nor his spokesman issue any statements or proclamations whatsoever in support of this Muslim day of prayer. The president has already given us plenty of reasons to wonder where his true religious sympathies lie. That last thing he ought to do is give us another by endorsing this event while continuing to distance himself from America’s Christian history and traditions."
You have to wonder what is going on here! This is all over the Internet and one of the biggest talked about subjects that is going on. There are reports of possible riots and violence in connection to this.
The gathering will take place by the site where U.S. Presidents have been inaugurated since 1981. Just food for thought, I think people should start to speak up and be heard if this offends you! Since the National Day of Prayer was said to be "possibly offensive" to some, wouldn’t this be a contradiction to do?
