Many times we are stressed with too many things, all happening at the same time. In my case, the other day, I had several things to attend to, pay bills, go to the bank, buy groceries, help my sister in packing as she was moving to her new house, and on top of it my mother was not well; and there were still more personal matters that needed attending to. I just wanted to run away from the scene and be elsewhere for awhile. But later, I felt that I had to take control of the situation.
I began by sitting down and made a mental note of everything that needed to be done. Things that were pressing, as well as lesser worries like housework, cooking, etc. Finally, after I had thought out everything in my mind and organised my thoughts, I felt much better, ready to take on the tasks at hand. I was actually able to attend to everything in a more methodical manner.
Making a list of all your intended activities is very helpful. I have noticed that, at least in my case, I tend to put off the most tricky situations and tackle the easier ones first. But by prioritising, you tend to deal with the most important jobs first and so on.
Making a list is also very essential in order to see that you have included everything that needs to be attended to–and at the end, you’ll notice anything you forgot! I like the saying "Action cures fears,"–it is so true, once you get started, the activity takes the burden off your mind. I guess the very act of organising and prioritising somehow makes it seem easier.

The more positive your attitude is, the happier and more at peace you feel. It helps us all around to be positive about anything in life. Unfortunately, most of us tend to dwell on things that matter to us, and that are there in our innermost thoughts even if they seem trivial to others. It takes a lot of self-control to keep them at bay and look at the practical side of things, and go about finding ways to tackle the issue.
I happened to remember a cartoon picture that was shown many years ago. It showed a lady surrounded by dirty utensils and clothes that needed washing, while she kept grumbling about the job to be done. The next minute her child comes and washes a plate and glass and tells her that now her burden had decreased to a certain extent. The woman feels that the child had more wisdom than her and goes about tackling her jobs in a more positive manner, talking to the child all the time about how she will soon be reaching her target of finishing all her jobs. Since certain things in life have to be endured, it is better to make things as pleasant as possible for ourselves and others around us.
It certainly does help us to achieve things faster and finish all that we intended to do, if we pause to organise things instead of fretting or becoming negative.
