The reasons for itchy scalp is dandruff. Dandruff is typically caused a fungus called Pityrosporum ovale (P. ovale). Despite the fact that the name may sound daunting, P. ovale is really a regular and naturally occurring yeast-like organism originating on the scalp and other parts of human skin. In small numbers, this fungus causes no damaging effects.

More explanations for irritated scalp is when they are prompted by certain modifications in climate, hormonal or stress levels, the P. ovale fungus has a tendency to focus on the scalp for a very good motive, the scalp is where the largest concentration of sebaceous glands can be found. These are the glands that manufacture your skin’s natural oil, called sebum, which supplies growth of the P. ovale fungus. As the fungus grows in size and numbers, it causes amplified skin annoyances and increase the speed of the rate at which aged skin cells are discarded and replaced. The outcome is dandruff.
Dandruff is generally limited to the scalp and characteristic indications include white or gray flakes and mild skin annoyances. Harsh dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis (seborrhea), is nearly all often established on the scalp but can also emerge in the vicinity around the eyebrows, cheeks, behind ears or on the chest. Seborrhea is frequently recognized by the manifestation of oily yellow flakes and moist red patches on the scalp.

Symptoms can be flaking, the most noticeable signal of dandruff, and possibly the most awkward, is flaking. It’s a key indicator that the skin cells on your scalp are peeling and being replaced at an accelerated pace. You are capable of spotting the white translucent flakes, in an assortment of shapes and sizes, on your scalp, in your hair, on your shoulders. Scalp cells typically aren’t noticeable to the human eye. However, the accelerated cell regeneration rate caused by dandruff forces dead cells to be shed in much larger clusters.

So, every individual flake you observe is in fact made up of a huge amount of dead cells, making it quite perceptible. Itching is an additional sign of dandruff at work on your scalp. Most people observe the itching to be a consequence of the actual flakes, but that’s actually not the case. The itching is a product of slight inflammation of your scalp caused by the Pityrosporum ovale (P. ovale) fungus. This is the fungus that actually causes dandruff by exasperating the scalp and accelerating the rate at which old skin cells are discarded and replaced.

To pacify the annoyance, our normal nature is to scratch. Redness, the third telltale indication occurs in more severe cases of dandruff commonly known as seborrhea. In this case, redness is a visible signal of inflammation of the scalp.

Home remedies are a good alternative to store bought products when it comes to controlling dandruff. They do not have any side effects and won’t eat up all of your money. They have been proven to be much more effective than store bought products. Trying home remedies can help erase your dandruff problems.

Lime juice can also help alleviate dandruff. Take a few tablespoons of fresh lime juice and rinse with it while washing your hair in order to get rid of dandruff. Lime juice helps remove dandruff but helps hair to look shiny.

Fresh vegetables and fresh fruit should always be a part of your daily diet if you want to control dandruff. If a person is suffering from dandruff they should avoid bananas and citrus fruits. Strong coffee should be avoided as well as processed foods.
