It is truly a wonderful thing, there are a multitude of Religious beliefs that individuals can chose to follow or not follow. The important thing is that each individual looks deep within themselves, connects with that still small voice and discover what it says to them. One can then turn to the various beliefs systems of this wonderful world and find the one which resonates with him.
Finding a place to connect with like minded people serves to stimulate your own beliefs. It is a confirmation that what you feel and think is right for you. It is the same when individuals find comfort in the use of one name or another for the Supreme being. Ones religion then becomes a personal choice. How wonderful that we live in a country and world where we are free to make that choice!
Christianity is not necessarily a single thought, there is a continuum of varying practices even within the broader label of Christian. This spectrum spreads from the most fundamentalist followers of Christianity to the various protestant and even Catholic followers. The underlying similarity is the belief that Jesus the Christ was/is the Son of God and Savior. Those who chose to follow this thought, believe that Jesus died to wash away “sin.”
Other religious thoughts also adhere to the belief in certain deities, and some opt to believe only that which many would term “God.”
Perhaps one of the most important things to remember is that whatever faith an individual chooses to follow, that faith is right and perfect for them at this point in their lives. The difficulties arise when one faith claims to be the only faith that is “correct.” Whether one is right or wrong should not be our focus. We must acknowledge that whatever religion a person feels called to follow, it is the one that is correct for them. Whether Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Muslim or some other faith, we need to honor the choice of the individual.
