I just learned of a website called Deal Alerter. Deal Alerter is a website that allows you to track products you are interested in and then make a comparison to find the best deals. You find what you are interested in by either typing it into the search box or you can go to the tabs that direct you to computers, electronics, furniture, fashion, health and beauty, games or whatever. I was interested in a flat screen monitor made by Dell, and I compared it with a flat screen monitor by Samsung. I clicked both of them, and the prices are listed on stores such as Target, Buy.com, Office Depot and a myriad of other online stores. The prices are given so you can compare them.
The monitor that I am interested in is the Dell S2309W Full HD Widescreen flat panel monitor. The price is $299.95 with a $40 off the top savings brings the price to $259.95. I can instantly compare this price to other comparable models. I found a Samsung T220 22 inch widescreen monitor advertised on Dell for $279.99, on PC Connection for $259.95, PC Rush for $283.82, and at Newegg for $269.99. Once you click on the item and click on the store logo you are taken to the store website where you can make your transaction. The Deal Alerter couldn’t be easier to navigate; it’s pretty straight forward. It looks like the Dell is the better buy all around.
I find that this website is handy because you can see at a glance who sells the product you are interested in and it gives you the asking price, and if there is a rebate it tells you that. It also tells you if there is shipping and tax included and how much it is. Then it gives you the total amount that you will have to pay for the item.
What is so great about this website is that there are tabs at the top, when you click on the item you are interested. Let’s say I click on the item sold at the Dell website. I click on it and at the top are tabs that are labeled: products, services, support, purchase help, Dell financing, learn, get Dell email, and my account. If you click on “support”, you will get a dropdown list of links to: product support, customer service, warranty information, Dell forums, contact us, and your tech team.
The Deal alerter website is very helpful, because not only do you get all the information you need, but you also get to read expert and user reviews of the products if any have been written. You also are given a chance to write a review of a product.
