This week, we begin to see the light, as we slowly emerge from This Recession, and that means color! Yes, it has been a year full of blacks and greys, but if you lick your finger and hold it above your head, you can feel the winds of change. Color is coming back into our picture. What better sound-track than The Rolling Stones 1967 classic, "She’s Like a Rainbow", with lyrics borrowed from the cult-terrific band, Love. Please check below for the colors best for you to wear, surround yourself with, or use in creative work, beginning Oct. 18. Also, see below for more about the band, Love.
Aries: Purple. The color of royalty and very high on the spiritual spectrum, Aries, you are drawn to shades of dark purple this week and you spend some time in deep thought and interpreting your dreams. Amethysts are very good dream-enhancers, and you would do well to wear them or put some raw stones by your bed.
Taurus: I see the raw, earthy turquoise (especially the Native American variety) for you this week, Taurus, as you continue to access the energy of the earth and draw inspiration from it. Wear turquoise or carry it around with you to enhance your health and your wisdom about a certain person or a proposition now before you
Gemini: I see you in Silver this week, Gemini - whether it be your choice of jewelry or clothing, the idea is that you are moving quickly to change your life, your location, the boundaries in your love relationships. The message here has to do with "quick silver" - fast as lightning and just as mercurial as your sign. Silver sparkles and shines- especially sterling. Silver indicates your finances will improve.
Cancer/Moonchild: Deep blue, the color of the ocean as its greatest depth, will attract and empower you this week, Cancer. You have been lacking in water (dehydrated or over-stressed) of late, and you need to stop and drink pure, clean water to re-balance your self. You will favor blue, as you do this - and you may choose to wear it in clothing or in jewelry (real sapphire or lapis would be the choice).
Leo: As we sail into Autumn, the earth tones become more visible, and I see Camel as your color. You won’t find this color in your crayon box, but you will find it in fine vintage clothing (camelhair coats and blazers, cashmere and pure wool). Camel is a regal golden-brown color that is reminiscent of your lion-heart and also of the royal gold. Camel is a "lighter" color and it brightens your spirit and your emotions. Topaz is a good-color gem for you. You need only wear camel once to feel the energy.
Virgo: I am seeing you in Green, but more butter-lettuce or celery than kelly. As an earth sign, and an excellent gardener, you relate to the natural greens and you may find yourself drawn to them - either as food for your body and your spirit - or as a clothing or jewelry color. Peridot, a lovely green, brings energy and protection to you, although you are more grounded than many of your peer Signs.
Libra: Your color is that of a pale pink pearl or pale pink rose, highlighting your sensitivities and sensuality. This color will also not be found in a crayon box, but it is abundant in nature, and you will be attracted to pink, but only the palest version. Pink can be found in quartz and also rhodochrosite, and it embellishes and enhances your charms - which is more or less what you are seeking.
Scorpio: You are the bearer and wearer of red this week, Scorpio, as you find it enhances and energizes your power. You find yourself in the middle of a relationship - either love or business - and you must use your Scorpio mind to avoid the problems that being middle-man or middle-woman can bring. Wear red in clothing as an accent (like a scarf) or as jewelry (garnet or ruby) or put something red on your desk.
Sagittarius: Good-time Sagittarius is in the mood to wear orange - or shades of tangerine. Orange is a power-color, held in high-esteem for its ability to enhance and energize those drawn to it. This is not the orange associated with pumpkins and Halloween, but more the natural shades - found in many varieties of fruit and random articles of clothing (like vintage silk scarves from the 1960s). Orange has the power to repel and to attract, but I see it as a good-natured, happy color, just do not overdo it. Place some delicious oranges on your desk or your coffee table, and that will continue to bring you good vibrations.
Capricorn: As you continue to meet challenges in relationships and work, you will want to get in touch with brown. This color can be found in the crayon box - but only as one example of the many shades of brown that will appeal to you. One of the most appealing: the earth’s raw dirt. As strange as this sounds, you are seeking grounding and approval, and the earth gives it to you. You can wear it most easily in clothing, but you can also enhance your living or work space with pillows, desk accessories, art work. Brown will give back to you.
Aquarius: You will be most attracted to off-white, egg shell, pale dun colors, as you begin to delve a little deeper into your spirituality and how best to express it. White is too stark for you right now, but off-white shows the direction in which you’re heading. Egg-shell, in terms of lace or household or office accessories will enhance your spiritual journey. This color expresses the need for you to "lighten up" along the way.
Pisces: Iridescence. Whatever your color choice this week, Pisces, you will be drawn to those colors that change with the light - even a kaleidoscope or an aventurine gem. You are more about the light than you are the color, but black will not bring you the relief and effervescence you seek. Stay away from darkness in all things, as you venture into new experiences and relationships.
This horoscope actually has two songs - The Rolling Stones’ and the Band, Love’s, original "She Comes in Colors" This band, Love, will soon undergo a renaissance and a revival, particularly as it relates to today’s cultural and creative mix. Only active for a decade from the mid-1960s, this Love was one of the first to combine racially-diverse musicians and diverse musical genres - R&B, psychedelic rock, pop, folk and more. Love’s seminal album, Forever Changes, has influenced a number of musicians, including Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, who calls it one of his favorite albums of all time. Particularly noteworthy, the late Love musician, Arthur Lee.
