After reviewing three top stores in my online shoe store review series here on Factoidz, I wanted to next visit a well known store online called Shoebuy (http://shoebuy.com). This is the website of everything – well, not everything, but a lot. It’s just full of shoes! In fact, The Wall Street Journal called it “the shoe-buyer’s dream.” It’s the largest retailer of all categories of footwear on the Internet. They even have a “Medical Clogs” category. And the category of “Dress Flats” has 284 results, some of them very cute and wearable. They sell 4000 styles of boots, 7000 styles of sandals, 1000 styles of wedding shoes, 5000 styles of children’s shoes, and 6000 styles of dress shoes. On top of that, the company has partnerships with 900 manufacturers and represents over 700,000 products. Yes, it’s massive.
But my favorite aspect of the site is that it’s actually smart. In other words, Shoebuy.com predicts how shoppers think – and, in that sense, what they really want. You can run category searches for size, width, color and price. And you can find almost any basic shoe style, from “Snake Skin Shoes” to “Roman Sandals.”

Also, their selection is rather sensible – like a category for “Rounded Toe” shoes. How practical is that? Many women love rounded toe shoes for their comfort and style. Now, it’s searchable. Also, I was happy to find a wide selection of espadrilles, which are great all-purpose shoes (but always seem so limited in selection).
The prices run the gamut – anything from $60-300. Of course you can even find shoes over $300, but they’re usually not so high.
For label zombies, there are so many deals, too. Check out these Ferragamos, which are listed at $140.95. The original price was $485. That’s 71% off!
Look at these cute Stuart Weitzman Granny Shoes in Pearl Leather on sale for $200. They were originally $335. That’s 40% off!
Shoebuy also has a special “Designer” page, which showcases large splashes of promotional images, including top label shoes. While I’m generally not into the “big labels,” this is probably of interest to many other shoppers who love the names (but hate the prices).
Also, here’s a nice treat, though: Shoebuy has no shipping fees and no additional sales tax (it’s included in the price). There’s a nice headache to avoid entirely.
It should also be mentioned that Shoebuy has an awesome selection of shoe products. Many of us desire an extra something – arch support, insoles, etc. Below is a Birkenstock arch support device for $54.95 followed by a Sof Sole Graphite for $41.95.
Perhaps my only issue is that there are too many options. I have to browse through pages upon pages of shoes. Instead, I prefer a site with a good selection of dependable, adorable shoes. Honestly, I don’t need 125 different kinds of cowboy boots.

Also, the plethora of products makes it more difficult to get specific information on the shoes. Neither the Birkenstock nor the Sof Soul devices displayed any product information. This would be an unquestionable given for a smaller site, like the Walking Company, and it is crucial in my decision-making process. I don’t even want to buy something online unless I’m provided with plenty of details.
Overall, Shoebuy.com definitely covers all your basic needs – and more. Unlike any of the other sites, it suits every style, from preppy to hippie to girly (or even the lack of genre, and just a nice shoe). While I’m always reticent about the “big company,” whether it’s a coffee-chain or online shoe store, I do offer high recommendations for Shoebuy, just based upon the sheer diversity of Shoebuy’s products. However, if you’re looking for something highly quirky or unique, or if you want to support a smaller, independent company, then you can always take a different route, like TOMS. Or perhaps just mosey on over to an indie company’s website and check out the styles.
