ELEVENTH IN A SERIES OF MONTHLY MESSAGE FROM SIKH GURUS:
SPECIAL ABOUT THE MONTH: This is the eleventh native or Desi month in Indian Mysticism and Astrology, when the Sun transits through the 10th sign of the zodiac, Capricorn. In the western system, it transits through the 11th sign of the zodiac, Aquarius. In the Punjabi and many other Indian systems, it is the tenth month.
The month of Aquarius, the Magh, gives us the message that we should hear, accept and serve according to the Gurbani and this is more than a pilgrimage, this kind of holy bath washes away all kinds of ignorance. With it, the eternal satisfaction and contentment come easily.
It is incredible for us that by leading this kind of life, all charities are done just by being a divine traveler. The recitation of His Name gives the Divine Wisdom.
Such a life is a service and glory to humanity and higher than truth–that we know by practice only.
THE DIVINE MESSAGE FOR THE MONTH OF AQUARIUS, THE MAGH BY SHRI GURU NANAK
In the month of Magh, we are amazed to find all the fruits ever desired by our self, so revealed and inspired by the Supreme Consciousness. Whatever our self (or soul) desires, is the ideal for us, yet our very own ego does not let it be known what we actually wish.
We notice that it is the problem of our very dependency on the ego, such that the ideals of the self and that of the wishes, appear to be the same. It is as if our any bad habit may seem a need, but not a wrong practice.
We, through the Art of Ascendancy, first learn and then practice to redirect the habits that create negative attitude and thus create a dilemma that we cannot attain stability and singleness or harmony of thought.
You see, our intellect seeks ascendancy, whereas the wrong use of ego fogs it, creating tensions, stresses and depression–overpowering the intellect. When or ego accepts the wisdom present in His Will, then clarity of mind is attained. Shri Guru Nanak says that we then have self-purification, the spiritual bath.
THE DIVINE MESSAGE FOR THE MONTH OF AQUARIUS, THE MAGH BY SHRI GURU ARJAN
In this month of Magh, says Shri Guru Arjan that the baths in the sea of Supreme Consciousness with the shining touch of Mother Nature as ever ascending in Him. The bath is not mere cleaning the body with water; rather it is cleaning the dirt of ignorance present over the self, created by the ego. Without taking such a bath, the foggy vision hides the ideal behind the creation.
We may take baths while remaining in the past or in the future, still to live in the present is the bathing done through prayers and singing His Glory. When we pray by heart, we are in the present and thus bathing in the ocean of His presence. Like the waves of the ocean, we sing, praising His Glory of Grace, and the soul swims as the waves in the ocean.
Mother Nature is His Energy working and serving Him through His Power of Grace. She emerges as the Big Bang following to Big Crunch. The bath of thanksgiving through prayer receives support for the Art of Ascendancy and thus for the spiritual evolution.
